A few weeks ago I was in the mall at my favorite store Von Maur and stopped by the Estee Lauder counter. I wanted to get some more of the lip gloss they had. The representative told me that if I spent $45 I would get the entire Estee Lauder gift bag set for free because it was beauty week at Von Maur!! Well sign me up!! You would not believe the free items I received from Estee Lauder. So fantastic…
This past summer my husband and I took a walk around Saks Fifth Avenue. I wanted to go and smell the new Aerin Lauder fragrances. All of them are just divine!! My absolute favorite is the Lilac Path. I ordered it online from Von Maur and they gave me lots of other goodies with my order for free!! I have really enjoyed my perfume. I am not a make~up kind of person but lately I have been really “open” to trying some things. I was in Sephora this past summer and I was asking questions about how to use bronzer and highlighter powders. I love to have a little shimmer on my face so I thought this would be the way to go.
I have to say I love my new Laura Mercier Matte Highlighter. I am wearing “Highlight -01”. I put it in the creases of my eyes and below my eyebrow. I love the shimmer. It’s so pretty. I am still not wearing foundations yet but we will see.
Oh winter! How I hate thee! My skin gets so dry. Since I am getting older I can’t get away with not moisturizing. Last year my friend Kim introduced me to Philosophy! It’s a wonderful skin care and fragrance line.
I must admit when it comes to beauty products I don’t like to try anything! But this company has certainly changed my mind. I noticed that I had these dark spots on my face and I could not get rid of them. I took a closer look and realized that they were dry spots!
Kim told me about Hope in a Jar. It is a facial moisturizing cream and it certainly does wonders! I purchased my jar at Von Maur and I have been smitten ever since! I use it twice a day and my face has improved! The dark spots are gone and my face is soft. I have purchased more products from Philosophy and I sing their praises. I adore the company. I have been learning a lot about facial care recently. I am not a big make-up person but my skin care is very important to me. I recently saw a Youtube video of Martha Stewart and in that video she discussed her facial care routine.
She mentioned using a facial spray toner when she wants to hydrate her skin. I have never heard of a facial spray so I thought I would do some “looking around” and see what I could find. I made a visit to Sephora. They carry almost everything you need for your body.
While looking around I stumbled on a beauty line called “Fresh”. The first thing I picked up was their Hesperides Grapefruit Spray. Oh my gosh is it delicious! So I purchased that and I love it (see my entry here about it). The next was the facial spray. It is called Rose Water Toner. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and I tell you it is fantastic!
I spray it on after my morning cleaning with my Clarisonic (see my blog entry here about that) and I also spray it on at night. It is a bit expense but it is well worth it! If you are looking for a great facial spray then try the Fresh Rose Water Toner. It will hydrate your face and it smells just like roses! The next item on my list is the Rose Eye Cream. I can’t wait to try it!
Jo Malone is an international perfume and cosmetics brand owed by Estee Lauder Companies. They are known for layering their scents. When I visited our Saks Fifth Avenue store last weekend I decided to visit the Jo Malone booth.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I immediately fell in love with most of the perfumes. My favorites are the Peony Blush & Suede, Orange Blossom and Nectarine Blossom & Honey. There were so many scents I didn’t have time to smell them all.
I love the idea of layering these scents for a more personal and signature scent. Everyone’s scent can be different with these colognes. They also sell body wash, shampoo & conditioner, lotions, soaps, vitamin E, bath oils and body cremes. For the home they sell candles, room sprays, linen sprays, diffusers and soaps.
I encourage you to visit their beautiful website and take a look at all the products. Also, when reviewing new perfumes always ask for samples. That way you can test it before you buy the whole bottle. The sales rep. gave me two samples and I have enjoyed them. Also, watch the Youtube video from Bride de Force. They had a wedding fragrance consultation at the Jo Malone store in London. It was gorgeous!
