My First Spa Visit~ Woodhouse Spa

Happy Friday!

It’s finally a little chilly here. The colder air came in last night. I am ENJOYING IT that is for sure! This weekend I wanted to attend the Fall Festival in Franklin, Indiana. I have never gone before but it’s now on my radar. I hope that we can make it. It is still unbelievable to me that my 40th is next week. Wow… I feel like it came so quickly this year.  I am starting to get really nervous about my first birthday cake. Please keep me in prayer! I did receive one of my items on my birthday list already. I have been using it and will share it later. Now I want to share my very FIRST spa visit that I had this past week!

I forgot to take a photo of the outside of the spa but this is pretty much what it looks like on the outside. It’s called Woodhouse Spa. I found out about it from my boss. She has a monthly visit scheduled and I always wondered about it so I decided to look it up. Once I saw that they did pedicures I decided to give them a call and make an appointment.

Relaxing room…

My last pedicure was a nightmare. I have been going to the Asian nail places for years and they have always been just fine. But my budget was not what it is today, so I just settled. I got a pedicure last month and it was dreadful. The girl was under 18 and did not want to do it nor was she trained. Plus, I have been asking them about gel polish and telling them that I want to try it, but they just kept putting that acrylic powder on because they don’t speak English well nor understand it. The nail place that I have been going to for the last five years was purchased by a new owner and I don’t like it. They are super young and play techno music the whole time! They rush you out and in and don’t take time to talk to you about your services. I am already spending just as much on my nail services there as I did at the spa! I am done! Time to move on!

Once I walked into the spa I was greeted by a hostess, checked in and, taken to the “relaxing room”. The environment smelled of beautiful soothing scents and the relaxing room was sensational! The floors were a dark mahogany color and the furniture looked like it was from Restoration Hardware. They had water with fresh orange slices, hot herbal cinnamon tea, and granola! You sit in the relaxing room for a few minutes until your services gal arrives.

This faux fireplace makes the noises that a real burning fireplace would. I am sitting drinking my fresh citrus water and relaxing. I always bring my own flip flops.

After having my relaxing time, the nail technician comes and retrieves you from the room and takes you to the pedicure room. They only had a few chairs so I knew at that moment that it would not be crowded.

It was the best pedicure I had ever had! She did the normal services. It was the products that she used that were very high quality. The Moroccan foot scrub… oh my gosh the smell was heavenly. Then the agave oils had a smell that I can’t ever describe. It was that marvelous! On top of the services, it included a food massage! I was in heaven! After my services, I was taken back to the relaxing room! So happy. You sit there and relax while your feet are drying. A slice of heaven!

I have already booked my appointment for next month in addition to a manicure. I cannot wait! I am also going to be getting a facial. I am looking forward to that as well! Please let me know in the comments section below if you go to the spa or have gone. If so what services did you get? I am curious. Until then have a great weekend!

Linnea ~ A New Company Discovery

Good Morning,

Well I have some exciting news that I have been keeping to myself for the past 2 weeks. I shared about a month ago about my new opportunity to be a brand ambassador for Sarah Flint. A few weeks ago they sent out emails about the company coming to Chicago for a brand ambassador meetup and truck show at the Four Seasons hotel and I am happy to say that I will be attending! The event will be this Monday and I will be driving up to attend. I am so excited! Chicago is about 3 hours away from me and I have not been since 2012. So it’s been about 10 years!

I am not sure what to expect but I am looking forward to the networking opportunities that will be presented to me and hopefully meeting some of the Sarah Flint staff! I hope that after the meeting and truck show we can have dinner or I can have dinner with some of the ambassadors! It will be nice to meet people. I just received a new order of business cards so I am ready to go! I am hoping that they will let us take photos and I will be sure to share if I can.

Now on to this new company that I discovered during my visit to the peony festival called Linnea.

While we were at the peony festival two weeks ago, my husband and I found this beautiful, serene booth full of sophisticated candles and body care.

We listened as one of the representatives explained how they made their candles and the scents that they offered. I have to admit I was not listening like I should have been. I was so caught up in the smells that I barely heard her. They smelled so good.

One of my favorite scents was Petals. The notes in this scent was peony, green stem, and ambergris. They had me at peony.

The second scent that I purchased was Nectar.  The notes for this scent were apricot, wild jasmine, and white musk. They also gave me a hand lotion sample for this scent. I have been loving it so much that I am considering buying a larger bottle. It’s that good! I also received a free tote with my purchase!

I have been burning the nectar candle in my bedroom. I will light it while I am reading a book. I love smelling that wild jasmine in my room at night. It’s so relaxing and elegant.

Well I hope you all enjoyed this new company find! Have a great weekend and I will see you all Monday with my gorgeous new vase!

A New Lavender Perfume…

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The up and down temps continue. Saturday was freezing and then Sunday was beautiful and sunny. This is never fun but we are used to it by now. I did my normal chores this weekend and then I decided to call my local Ulta to see if they have the new scent from Philosophy that I saw on their Instagram page. Did any of you see the new lavender perfume that Philosophy just launched?

Oh my goodness! I love it. I adore it just as much as the jasmine scent that I picked up last year. The scent is so light, floral, and subtle. It is a wonderful addition to my feminine wardrobe for sure.

Let me know in the comments section below if you intend on going to smell this new fragrance. I would love to know what you all think, good or bad. I am also going to be taking the rest of the week off from the blog. Our daughter is on spring break and I want to take a few days to spend some time at home and get some things done. If I do anything fun or find some wonderful things I will be sure to share it on the blog. The boutique is still open for business. I do intend on ordering a new item for the plus-size section. I really want to order the lace cardigan for the plus-size section below. What do you all think? I want to order it in this beautiful mauve color and the light blush color.

I love it! But let me know your thoughts below. I hope you all have a great week and I will talk to you all soon!

My Morning Walk Essentials

And what a beautiful Friday it is here in Indy…

It is a beautiful 70 degrees here and there is hardly any humidity. It is absolutely perfect! I got lots of packages this week. I will share my custom birthday ginger jar cookies soon, my new Victoria book, some beautiful mules that I ordered from New York and Company, a new boutique arrival, and hopefully my new porcelain tissue holder will be shipped out soon.

But in today’s post, I quickly wanted to share my favorite items that I wear to do my morning walks…

These items just arrived from Amazon. I was wearing a basic cotton shirt, my jogger pants, running shoes, and sun hat. As I was walking and it got cold I thought, “I need to buy some nicer items” so here we are.  And yes you read that correctly, I was wearing my sun hat. So I ordered the funnel neck sweatshirt, the sun visor hat, armband cell holder, and my Nikes from Amazon. My versions are sold out but I found some similar ones here

I love all of my new walking essentials! I love the sweatshirt. I tried it on last night and it looks really chic. I am thinking about ordering a second one in a different color. My cell phone armband is great! I will be able to slide my phone in there while my app is keeping track of my miles and calories. I was holding my cell in my hand which I did not like. And I will not be wearing my sun hat anymore. My husband hated me wearing that but I wanted to wear a hat so it was my only option. I found the one above and it is the perfect hat for me.

I am not a baseball cap kind of person and this is a great cross between the two. What do you guys think? I love to walk but I just don’t like all of the clothes that they have so I found items that suit me. I hope my finds have given you all some inspiration. I hope you all enjoy your weekend. The new boutique arrival should be on the website soon.

A Lovely New Product~ Lavender Pillow Mist

Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Friday to you all! Some of us will be enjoying a three-day weekend. I am one of them and so looking forward to it. I hope to get my usual items done, but I hope to have a few hours here and there to rest. On Monday we are taking my daughter and her bestie to the zoo. Since we aren’t taking a summer vacation this year we are trying to find little events to add to her summer before it’s over. She returns to school at the end of the month and I could not hate it more. I hate these short summers!

I am looking forward to her fall break. I am already counting down the months. I also wanted to remind everyone that the boutique is still having its sale. I am hoping to clear out a few more items and I am on the hunt for a dress or two to add. My vendors have some great dresses. I am just having a hard time trying to make a decision on one.

Well, let’s move on to today’s post. I wanted to share a recent purchase.

I think most of you watched my recent video on Youtube and if not I will share it below. But in that video, I talked about my recent Bath and Body Works purchases. I purchased the Lavender Vanilla body cream and just fell in love with it. I put it all over my body in the morning and every time I walk by someone they comment on my scent.

Well, I went back last weekend and picked up the pillow and body mist and I tell you it is the most wonderful elegant treat! The scent is so light and lovely. I spray it on the bed and on myself! It’s heavenly. It’s small beautiful things like this that can make life so pleasing. I tell you I don’t think this scent will disappoint you. It’s that delightful.

I hope you all enjoyed this new find and have a chance to go out and smell it. I will leave my recent Youtube video below and have a wonderful 4th of July everyone!

Summer Purse Essentials

Good Morning and Happy Memorial Day!

My family and I are keeping it simple today. We are just hanging out at home, we will grill a bit and wash the cars. Most of my house chores I finished yesterday so it will be nice just to relax. I picked up this most recent issue of Victoria magazine and there are quite a few beautiful articles that I can’t wait to read. I am looking forward to that.

In today’s post, I wanted to share my summer purse essentials. I shared my Covid purse essentials last year and thought this would be good to share now since it is June! Can you believe it? We are halfway through the year already!

Oh before I get into my list I had to share this photo. I stopped by JP Parker flowers again to pick up some more peonies. I could not help myself.

Whenever summer arrives I always check my purse for my summer must-have products. I love the anti-bacterial hand spray from Bath and Body Works. This french lavender scent is my absolute favorite. I also add my small bottle of Caudalie facial spray. It helps me to feel refreshed after a hot day. I love spraying this on my face for a cool-off. I also always decant my favorite body spray in a smaller bottle. This is a small bottle of Amazing Grace from Philosophy. I have to have a small bottle of some scent in my purse. I hate coming into a building and have that “outside smell”, oh that drives me nuts!

Now on to some items that are a little more personal. It gets really humid here in Indy and sweating is everyone’s problem. I love buying these Summer’s Eve personal wipes. They are great for your personal area and whenever I use them I feel so refreshed. I also love using this spray. You can spray it in your lower area and some of the scents are floral. They are wonderful. I have been using them for years!

I hope you all have found some useful and helpful information in this post. I know talking about summer sweat and personal products is never a fun thing but for me it’s necessary and it’s how I maintain being elegant. Let me know in the comments section below if you have used any of these products! Have a wonderful Monday and enjoy your holiday!

A New Philosophy

Good Morning All,

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! I kept things simple and ordered in some Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I knew the restaurants were going to be packed. When we called they had a 2 and a half hour wait! Prom was going on as well as Mother’s Day. Nightmare….

On Sunday I stayed in. Our weather here was pretty nasty. It poured the whole day so I just got home chores done, worked on the blog, boutique, and bills. Last weekend I did go to Ulta because I saw on Instagram that Philosophy came out with two new facial cleansers for Purity.

The pink one is called Purity with goji berry extract and it has a wonderful light berry scent to it. It still has the 3 in 1 cleansing method with the meadowfoam seed oil. The goji berry is a superfruit and is known for its antioxidant properties. I use this one in the morning.

At night I use the Purity with charcoal powder. Now this one has an active carbon and is derived from hardwood. It’s known for its detoxifying properties and ability to absorb oil and sebum.

I love using both of them. I love the basic Purity Made Simple cleanser. I saw great results when I started using it in 2012. I was actually looking for new cleaners a few months ago and I did not really like the new ones that I purchased. They have not been bad it’s just I love the Purity so much.

What is your favorite facial cleanser? Do you have a cleanser that you have been using since the beginning of time? I know once I find something it’s hard to let go. I hope you all enjoy this new find and have a great Monday!
