Simple Eyelashes ~ part 2

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Hump Day! Things are slowly starting to get back to normal here in Indy. Once the kids get back from spring break they will be allowed to attend school 4 days a week instead of 2! I am a little hopeful hearing that but our daughter is not. She likes only attending school twice a week. But I told her that she will adjust to the four days. It will be fine.

We are still working from home for now. I know that may change here soon as well so I am trying to enjoy it. Last weekend I picked up some beautiful faux lashes at Ulta and I have been wearing them all week! They are so beautiful and glamourous! That got me thinking about the last time that I wrote about lashes here on the blog. It was in 2014 which was my first year of blogging! I am due for an updated post!

I picked up these from Ulta and knew that I need to get more of them! They are the perfect balance (for me) of lush and volume.

I love all of the different sizes that each strand of hair has. They are lightweight and are so easy to apply.

This is how they look on me. Love them!

I thought they were a little expensive at Ulta so I found a value pack on Amazon and purchased those. They arrived yesterday. I am so happy with how they look. Here is a pack of two if you are interested.  I hope you enjoyed this little beauty find and read my blog post from 2014. It is amazing where I am now from when I first starting blogging. I am still learning along the way. Enjoy your Wednesday!

My Blue and White Facemask Collection

Good Afternoon All,

I am working on something new and will be sharing it soon. Make sure you start to follow the A Home for Elegance Instagram account. I will be posting the updates on there as well. I am really excited but absolutely terrified at the same time. This is something that I have been wanting to do for years and I mean literally years! I remember sketching clothes and my business ideas way before I was even married. I still have all of those sketches and business ideas from 2002. I kept everything I wrote down. Everything….

Well, it’s Friday and it’s going to be a cold weekend for us here in Indy. I think I saw that it was going to be only 10 degrees (as a high) on Monday! Great… That’s my office day. But I try to remind myself that we need this cold. It’s a necessary evil. I am trying to get my weekend planned. I always have a checklist. Even for the weekends. I really want to visit Sephora. I need some new face wash and I want to take a look at some eyebrow products.

In today’s post, I wanted to share my blue and white collection of face masks. I can’t believe we are still wearing these things but I am hoping that some changes will come soon.

This was my first blue and white mask purchase. I purchased this from a website called Gossamer. My particular print is no longer available. It debuted in the Spring of 2020 but this blue and white face mask is available for a really great price. They have other masks. I would encourage you to look around.

This was a second Gossamer purchase. This also debuted last year and sold out pretty quickly. It is two-sided. It has the same print on the other side but the majority of it is white and the birds are blue. It’s quite lovely.

This was my third blue and white mask purchase. I ordered this from fellow blogger Tina from the Enchanted Home. This is her hand-embroidered face mask in soft blue. It is still available for purchase. I have been thinking about ordering a second from her. I really like the navy color that she offers. We will see.

My fourth blue and white mask purchase was from Etsy. Another fellow blogger shared this. This is the shabby chic blue and white mask from Perdita Studio. It was only $10 and I love it! It fits great on my face and was affordable.

My last purchase (for now) was this blue and white Audrey mask from Shopfofas. Once you get your ribbons tied to your face shape it becomes easier to put on. They have other beautiful masks available. I hope you take a look around.

I hope everyone enjoyed these now essential finds.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Let me know in the comments section below what your favorite mask is.  Also, don’t forget to follow me on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. You can download the app for free! I love it! I get to shop and follow all of my favorite grandmillennial influencers!  You can also screenshot my photos and get instant access to the items! I will be posting there 3 to 4 times a week now. Enjoy!

Grace Rose Farms ~ Rose Water Spray

Good Morning Everyone,

What a week it has been. So much going on in the news and in my city. I am looking forward to a calm weekend.

I recently shared on my Youtube channel that I ordered a bottle of the Garden of Grace Rosewater spray. Let me say that the packaging alone was worth the purchase!

As I mentioned on my channel I believe this company wants the opening of the package to be an experience as well.

For those of us who love pink and flowers, this scent, and packaging are the epitome of femininity. It is everything you want in elegance.

I admire the time and dedication that they put into the scent and the packaging. You can tell that everything was thought through and well-executed!

I hope you all can experience this wonderful product. The scent is very light and smells just like their roses when it drys. Keep an eye out for future discounts and opportunities to order! I know I now want the perfume and candle. We will see! Thanks for reading!

My Purse Essentials During Covid

Good Morning,

The Covid saga continues. With numbers rises it makes you wonder if we will have a second quarantine. I hope not. I try to make sure that I do my part but you can’t control people (nor do I think we should) or their actions.

I just wanted to share what I have in my purse while I run errands around my city.

Here lately I have been carrying my quilted handbag (sorry it’s no longer available) around to run errands. It is still so chic.

I managed to get everything I need inside and it works quite well.

Right now these are the contents of my handbag. I have my clutch which carries, my makeup, lip care, brush, mirror, hand sanitizer spray,  body spray, my wallet, sunglasses, and this Coach drawstring dust bag.

The Coach drawstring dust bag carries all my Covid essentials. This dust bag came with my wallet when I purchased it. I have about 6 of these. I always keep them.
I have my rubber gloves, my face masks, and french lavender hand sanitizer spray in my dust bag.

I adore this hand sanitizer spray from Bath and Body Works. It doesn’t dry out my hands, it smells marvelous, and I can use it to spray my shopping cart when I feel sort of squeamish.

My husband even loves my hand sanitizer spray. He goes on and on about how good it smells. They have other scents if you are interested.

I hope this post gave you some simple ideas about how to carry your items with you. I never thought in a million years that I would be carrying a face mask in my purse. It’s amazing how the world changes so fast.

Enjoy your day.

Rose ~ Soft Lip Cream

Good Morning,

I hope everyone had a great holiday. We kept things simple. We grilled some steaks, corn, hotdogs, and hamburgers. I cut up a watermelon, made baked beans, chips and we had ice cream. A very simple day. It was so hot this weekend and we are not expected to get any rain for days now.

I hate the summer but I try to make the most of it. I also went through my house and took note of things that need to be done. I went through my closet again and donated lots of clothes to the Goodwill.

It’s always nice to have an orderly closet. I also made a few purchases this week which I plan on sharing soon. The first is this lovely rose lip cream from Fresh.

I have been “stalking” this on Instagram for quite some time now. It just looked so beautiful and I love anything to do with roses.

I ordered my lip cream from Instagram and got free shipping!
It comes in a beautiful blush container and it is quite a large size! I was so pleased when I opened the box.

It is a wonderful cream and I have been wearing it for a week. I love it! The scent is very light so you won’t be overwhelmed with roses.

The Fresh Company always has great products and I have never been disappointed by one. I hope you can grab a container to try. It is quite elegant.

Enjoy!

A Little Hair Assistance

Good Morning Everyone,

Sorry for the no-post on Wednesday. I am working from home but have been swamped lately! It’s a good thing no worries.

I hope everyone is doing well. We are happy to hear that our numbers here in Indiana are dropping but not fast enough to lift the stay at home order. No worries, I’d rather be safe than sorry. I am just really concerned about certain businesses. Especially small business owners. I couldn’t imagine the pressure and stress right now.

Okay, enough heavy stuff. I wanted to share this great little item. Of course, I found it on the Liketoknowit app. and they are called Chloven Makeup Facial Headbands.

I follow Julia Marrero on the Liketoknowit app. and she shared these great little headbands to use for your nightly routine.

Oh my…. is that me with no makeup or lashes? It is …. all smiles though. Now mine looks a little different and they have a lot of lint when you take them out of the packaging but they work great and I have been using them for about a week. Let me know in the comments section below if you are using some sort of headband for your nightly routines.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and enjoy your weekend. We are expecting SNOW here in northern Indiana. I hope it stays north!!!  My husband and I have a tarp over my peonies. I hope they don’t freeze.

Fingers crossed!

Honeysuckle- A New Scent

Good Morning Everyone,

I still can’t believe our daughter is 15! It’s quite incredible that these years are flying by. Goodness…. well if you read my blog post on Monday then you would know that I visited Pier 1 this weekend.

Not only did I pick up those beautiful Moody Bloom Salad plates which are now on sale, but I also took a look at their home scents.

I took a peek and smelled the blue hydrangea. It was good but I was not in love with it.

Then I found the Honeysuckle and that smelled wonderful to me. I purchased the reed diffuser and I have placed it next to my bed so that while I read and when I wake up, I can smell it.

It has notes of lilac, lily, and magnolia. It is quite lovely and a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. If you have a Pier 1 nearby I would recommend that you go by and take a look at the store. It is filled with beautiful home inspiration.

Have a wonderful day!
