Wild Blueberry and Honeysuckle Cream

It’s Friday and I am looking forward to getting into my flower garden this weekend. I am hoping that some of the rain will hold out. I really want to get some mulch, and flower pots for my porch. My Canadian cherry choke tree is blooming and it smells like fresh lavender out front. It is so lovely.

I love simple pleasures like that in life. Being out front with my husband looking at all of the work that we want to do this spring to our yard and then getting a whiff of our scented tree. Very nice….

Speaking of scents, I hope that some of you have had a chance to get to Bath and Body Works. Their new scents are amazing! It has been very hard for me to find a scent lately. I am still a dedicated fan of the oldies but goodies. Like the original cherry blossomthat has been the last of the retired scents that I have been able to order. I love it and order it in bulk when I can.

But now their new wild blueberry scent is a close second! I love it! I have been wearing it for about two weeks now and still love it. That is a good sign. Another great fragrance is their pink honeysuckle. It has such a clean smell to it. I really like the notes of pink mandarin and sandalwood in it. It’s lovely.

I hope you can all get a moment to stop by and smell these. Enjoy a simple pleasures!

Lolita Lempicka

A little perfume today….. Lolita Lempicka has been my go to fragrance this month. I have been wearing this for over ten years. It has a “powdery” scent to it. I love it!

And apparently people who have passed me on the street love it too! I have had several people tell me, “ohh my goodness, you smell wonderful”. I do love this scent and look forward to wearing my “heavier” scents for the next few months.
Have a great weekend!

A Lovely Foot Soak at Home

About once every other week I give myself a pedicure at home. I do enjoy it. Sometimes I will read, make a cup of tea or watch a vintage movie while soaking my feet. This past weekend I decided to try a new foot soak.

I saw this at Walmart a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try. And I am glad that I did. It was quite wonderful! My feet and toes felt very clean.
The smell was not the sweet peppermint scent that I was used to. It smells a little more like medicine than something sweet. I love that fact that it has baking soda in it to help with odors and the epsom salt to help with soreness.
I put just a little in my foot tub. I have just a medium clear foot tub.
Then I added a little bit of my bubble bath liquid for bubbles. It was a nice pedicure. I soaked my feet for about 20 minutes. It was lovely.
If you need a good foot bath salt then try this. I believe that there were other scents available. An at home pedicure is the best way to relax and take care of yourself. Have a good weekend!

Trying Natural Soap

I have been so inspired by Jennifer L. Scott’s natural home series on Youtube. I first shared a book called The Woman’s Herbal Apothcary and I have not stopped reading it. The next item that I was inspired to try was some natural soap.

Jennifer posted a video about natural soap from a company and I was just too curious not to try some.

Now I did not order the natural soap that she posted about in her video but I am going to be ordering the goat milk bath very soon. It sounds wonderful.

I did however see this natural soap stand in my local mall. I was curious about it and began to ask questions. This is Finchberry Soap. All of of their soaps are natural and safe to use.

The Finch Berry promise….
Their soaps contain, water, olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, sunflower oil, lye, mica, oxides, select essential and/or fragrance oils and it smells WONDERFUL!
I purchased the sweet dreams bar. It smells so good and I have been USING it. My skin is so soft and afterwards so is the water. It’s kind of weird but it does something to the water too.
It is a beautiful bar and you can smell the lavender and vanilla. It is quite lovely. The price was great too! Only $9 which I thought was very fair. If there are some natural soaps near you give them a try or order one of these delicious bars. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Florals in a Bottle

In 2000 I purchased the bottle below from The White Barn Shop back when they sold body fragrances. I have not thrown it away. I simply love the way it looks and it has inspired me over the years to put faux flowers in my small bottles of perfume.

I buy small plastic bottles from the store and I put my favorite body spray or perfumes in them so I don’t have to carry a huge bottle of spray with me. But before I put the lid on I always add some small faux flowers to it.
This is my small bottle of Amazing Grace that I keep in my purse.

Small faux florals in the bottle. Lovely isn’t it? I hope this inspires you too.

Estee Lauder ~ Pleasures

Before leaving to go to D.C. I went to the mall with my family. I am a huge fan of Estee Lauder products. I purchased my facial cream and night cream and decided to smell some of the perfumes. I ended up loving the Pleasures scent. It smells like fresh flowers.

Such an attractive box

Here is a description of the perfume….
One of life’s simple pleasures. Fresh as flowers after a spring rain, this sheer, shimmering floral is a spirited blend of lilies, white peonies and jasmine, all tingling with the rare essence of exotic baie rose.

I ended up purchasing this set. It included the body lotion and shower gel which I will use as bubble bath. It smells wonderful. This scent has such an allure to it. I will savor it this summer. I hope that you can go and try it yourself.

My First Jo Malone Purchase

So excited about this blog post! My husband purchased my first Jo Malone fragrance two weekends ago! I was really surprised. We went in just to look around and ended up having a wonderful experience.

Our Jo Malone store here in our city.

All the wonderful fragrances that they encourage you to mix and match.
I kept navigating to the floral scents. She mixed their Red Roses scent with the English Pear & Freesia scent and it was quite lovely. Then she mixed the Red Roses scent with the Mimosa & Cardamom and that was quite lovely also. It was so much fun mixing scents and understanding the oils. I really enjoyed it!
In the end we settled on the red roses scent. My husband just LOVED it!
The box was so wonderfully wrapped and chic!
We purchased the 30ml bottle for $65! I wanted to see how it went with my body chemistry.
Loving it so far.
She gave me lots of samples. I have been wearing them. I must say that I really like the red rose bath oil. She gave me a sample of it and I have been putting it on my feet, hands, knees, elbows. It is so nice. Oh gosh and with our below freezing temperatures it has been a God send!

Hand cream samples
I so enjoyed my visit to Jo Malone and will be going again for some of that Red Rose Bath oil. It was a wonderful experience and I thank my husband for the lovely gift.
