My Visit to Sarah Flint in Atlanta

Good Morning,

This past weekend we had phenomenal weather. I went to a hair appointment and had my hair trimmed and realized how long it really was! I have been trying for years to grow my hair to my bra strap. It is finally there! Such a goal to meet after all these years.

Oh my goodness everyone! I was recently on a Zoom call with Sarah Flint and she was showing us the new holiday collection for 2023. I don’t know if any of you were on that call but there was a pair of shoes and scarf calling my name! I did order the scarf but the shoes I will wait because the price was quite high!

Going to a Sarah Flint store is a wonderful experience and quite satisfying. She is certainly true to her brand and the appearance. I had to visit the store in Atlanta while I was there.

I love visiting these stores. It’s like a gift to your grandmillennial mind! So many textures and colors. It does not feel like a hospital and each store is so different and has its own character.

The staff was so nice and we talked and talked about the brand and local restaurants around.

The staff let me try on different size belts and the Gracie Perfect Pump 85 in pink. Looking at the shoe dust bags was enough to make you swoon! Oh my goodness were they gorgeous!

Looking at all of the care and detail that went into decorating the store. There were so many details!

Still true to blue and white!

I am still loving this framed scarf idea. I am seriously considering it for my home office.

Every nook and cranny was carefully displayed. There were vintage books and Sarah’s blue and white china set which I was told that she has thought about launching that as well.

The dressing room slipper which I now own! I love wearing it around my home. The price has dropped ($119 off) and you can use my code SARAHFLINT-CCMRSSHOCKLEY for an additional 15% off!

The store has such an English home feel and look. I truly enjoyed visiting. I will miss the Nashville store. It has been permanently closed! The manager at the Atlanta location told me. I was so sad, but I am very grateful that I got to visit last year

I would love to visit the Dallas store next. We will see if the Lord can get me there. Don’t forget to shop with my link or use my code SARAHFLINT-CCMRSSHOCKLEY for 15% off! Have a great day!

Shopping in Buckhead

Hello There!

Another end to another week. Boy this month went by quickly! This weekend is a little busy as well, but I want to make sure to sit at some point and enjoy my new FBMP find! I will share it soon!

I do miss Buckhead. It was such a beautiful place. One of the resources that I used to help me find places to shop was this guide that I found on Flower Magazine.com. All of the designers shared their favorite places to shop while in the ATL. Some of them live there so I knew that I needed to print this off and use it!

After eating lunch at the Swan Coach House my husband and I went to the Shops at Buckhead. There were a lot of really nice stores there. Our first stop was Sarah Flint but I will share that in a different blog post. The second was this beautiful Hermes store.

All I did was wonder around the first few minutes. We don’t have a Hermes store here in Indy and the last time I was at a Hermes store was in 2017 in New York

The staff was incredibly friendly and so helpful. I was so glad to see that. You always hear rumors about the staff in Hermes but they were wonderful. I did pick up a lip oil in the color rose kola and I love it so much! It such a beautiful color and now I have something that I want from Hermes! Great… not sure if that is a good thing.

The second place that I wanted to visit was the Dior store. I have been wanting a Christian Dior floral scarf for years now. This was stunning. I asked the rep. if he would hold it up for me. I just loved it, but they are so expensive. I did find this Etsy seller online who has a superb collection of vintage scarves. You should check it out!

After leaving Dior drooling over everything, we went to Diptyque. Again, we don’t have a store in Indiana, and I really wanted to visit this store. We smelled practical everything candle in the store and we both loved the jasmine. I have it on my desk now and my goodness is it marvelous.

After shopping in the lux area, we went to the Lenox Mall near our hotel and decided to look around. We ended up stopping in Carolina Herrera and looking at her store. I purchased a jasmine candle from there as well. It’s downstairs and when I have both of the jasmine candles burning… oh my goodness is my home glorious.

We then made our way over to Louis Vuitton. I have never seen LV trunks in person. My store does not have them. Not that I can remember so seeing these was so exciting. The small trunks above are my dream trunks. I really want one for my vanity but at $4k I think it may be a minute. I am on the Vestiaire Collective website (previously known as Tradesy) keeping my eye out for a cheaper one, so we will see.

It was such a good experience again and the staff was excellent! So friendly and helpful.

This LV trunk was hand painted by an artist that they have come by and work. There was also Louis Vuitton paint! She painted it with Louis Vuitton paint. Incredible!

After shopping at the mall I found an antique store nearby called Antiques & Beyond. My goodness was this such a great store. Nothing like I have back home. The staff again, was phenomenal. There was so much to look at.

I gasped when I saw the cabinet full of vintage Chanel jewelry. I wanted practically all of it but of course, it was all so expensive.

I did purchase this Chanel brooch (faux), this Louis Vuitton pouch and this bust from the antique store. The Tory Burch heels came from a consignment store called Labels. They had 3 stores all on the same street. One for men’s, women’s, and accessories. Crazy right? I loved shopping in Buckhead. There was so much for me to see and do. I really do hope to return. Have a great weekend!

Style Tips for Elegant Women

Good Morning!

Oh goodness, I am finding myself to be so “froggy” lately and honestly, I know what it is! It’s because we are normally on vacation this month and all of our vacation memories are coming up in our Facebook memories and it is not helping me! I need a change of scenery!

I just keeping telling myself “calm down September will be here soon”. I am so ready for our trip and for getting away. It is really going to be so different for us. We will have no kids, no dogs to worry about, and will be able to stay where we want! Oh goodness! I am really looking forward to it.

I have been on the hunt for lots of ideas and new podcasts to inspire my daily life. I recently found Tonya Leigh on Youtube and then on Spotify. I loved her “elegant woman series” and had to share some of her tips on style with you all.

The first commandment is elegant women wear what they love. That’s right, they just wear what they love. They don’t depend on the outside world to tell them what’s in style, what they should wear, what the season is telling them is appropriate or what’s acceptable.

The second commandment of elegant women is that they dress for their dreams. And this is where self-image comes into the picture. Because we can get so used to seeing ourselves in a certain way that we continue to choose clothing to reconfirm a certain image that we have of ourselves. (I love this commandment!)

The third style commandment of elegant women is to choose quality over quantity. Now, I know that those sales are tempting. And you’re thinking, “Why don’t I just get a bunch of these things right now because they’re 50% off?” But this is not how elegant women think. Elegant women are not about quantity. They are about quality. They don’t want to invest in things that fall apart after the first few wears. And I believe it is better to have one quality piece than 10 crappy ones. (But I do keep in mind that everyone has their own budget)

Style commandment number four of elegant women is a big one, and it’s one that I have to remind women of often in my programs. And that is, elegant women dress the body they have now.

How many of you are waiting until you lose the weight to invest in clothes that make you feel beautiful? It’s like putting yourself in purgatory. And it doesn’t work. And the reason why it doesn’t work is that you are reconfirming a self-image that is out of alignment with the version of you who has lost the weight.

Now, I get not wanting to go and buy really expensive things if you know that you’re going to lose the weight, in a year from now, chances are you won’t be wearing those things. But that doesn’t mean that you neglect the body that you have now.

I have been guilty of a few of these and especially the last one. I have held off buying clothes because of my size. I have always had issues with my weight. But I have never wanted it to stop me from being elegant.

I hope you all have enjoyed these tips. I am linking the rest of the style commandments here for you to read and enjoy. Until then have a great day!

A Beautiful Life Contains Small Things…

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone had a good holiday. Ours was a bit rocky. We have been having thunderstorm after thunderstorm. Some have been okay, but others have been difficult. We lost power on Sunday and then had hail!! It was awful. Luckily the power came back on after about 40 minutes, and it does not appear that we have hail damage on my husband’s truck. It’s been really awful!

We kept our holiday simple. I really did not want to do much. I just wanted to hang out at home and look at some things online. I think that I shared that recently how I am wanting an English aesthetic in my life. When I saw the recent Sarah Flint Gracie collection with the beautiful and breathtaking shoe bags this quote came into my mind, “Having a beautiful life is also in the accessories that you possess”.

I have always loved the “small” beautiful things in my life but now that I am getting older, I want my small life items to be beautiful as well. I mean why not? The world has been such a crazy place recently and it does not seem like it is going to get any better!

I reached out to my contact with Sarah Flint and asked if we could purchase more shoes bags. They of course said that it was not an option. I will mention that in our next Zoom call. I believe that her shoe bags would do so well!

I think that the small details in our lives can put smiles on our faces. These garden floral napkins from Pottery Barn just arrived. I smiled as soon as I saw them. Beautiful small details…

This lovely English garden inspired pillow cover just arrived as well. I added it to my loft and it is sitting on my pale green settee. The combination of colors and patterns just adds to the beauty and simplicity in my office space. This stunning pillow case is also a favorite of mine and should be arriving next month.

Wherever you are in life, and it doesn’t matter your budget, add beautiful things in the small items that you possess. Life is so short. Make your journey every day beautiful.  Have a great day!

New Sarah Flint Gracie Collection

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I am looking forward to my four-day weekend! I need to get some things done in the home. I hope to do a “phone cleanup” and clean out my handbags. I also need to get some things on my calendar that need to be scheduled. We plan on keeping it quiet at our home. I enjoy the 4th of July, but some people just overdo it. Lighting fireworks until 2 or 3 in the morning is a bit much but it is what it is.

My recent hair salon visit went very well. I am happy to say that I have a new hair stylist and will be going to her for my upkeep. She was wonderful and very nice. I also did my floral prep training at Random Acts of Flowers. I can now start volunteering at this organization. Yay me!

I hope you all got my recent newsletter. In that newsletter, I share the new Gracie Collection from Sarah Flint. You guys I am so happy that they did a second collaboration! It is gorgeous!

I have honestly been smitten with the new kitten heel pump since it launched last year. Seeing it in the new Gracie print is like a grandmillennial dream!

Just look at the block heel sandal. The pink is the perfect pink. It doesn’t look like a Barbie pink or a neon pink. I call it an “elegant lady pink”. Aren’t they just lovely?

photos via Sarah Flint

I cannot get enough of this pink! This is the Natalie Ballerina in the pink Holts garden print. I believe that once these are sold out this particular shoe and print will be extremely sought after! Just my opinion.

Sarah shared in a recent Zoom meeting that this is the very first Oxford that she has created. I believe most of the sizes in this shoe are sold out already!

I actually love these as well. I was torn between these and the Perfect Pump Kitten heel 50. I believe that Sarah did a phenomenal job using a men’s silhouette to accomplish this design. It was executed well.

The last thing that I wanted to share were the custom Gracie shoe bags! I saw these on the Sarah Flint Instagram stories and fell in love! I believe each pair will come with a custom shoe bag like this. What a beautiful surprise! I have already reached out to ask if I could also purchase an additional set of the shoe bags? I would love to have these for traveling. If you see a pair that you love don’t hesitate to use my code SARAHFLINT-BASMSSHOCKLEY for 60$ off your order. We still have people asking about last year’s Gracie collection. We hope that Sarah will re-launch but there are no guarantees. Order while you can!

Have a great 4th of July!

Weekend Wardrobe

Good Morning Everyone!

Whew, another busy weekend! We had Lauren’s college orientation on Friday and her Open House Party on Saturday. We did a lot of walking at the college and her open house turned out very well. Next weekend we are headed to her roommate’s open house to support and hang out.

Yesterday I had lunch with my Guild Friends. We ate at a place called Shaprio’s and it was great catching up. The week before I had brunch with my cousin, and I am planning another lunch here soon with my co-workers and another friend. I am trying to get out and have more social events with people. I am trying to build relationships!

Speaking of weekend and social events, I wanted to share my weekend wardrobe. Now I do have a few dresses that I only wear on the weekends but for the most part I wear all my clothes. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen these pieces already.

In the first outfit I have my blue navy dress from Old Navy, my cream ruffle cardigan from H&M, my Quadrant tote from Tory Burch and my cream mules from Ann Taylor

This outfit is so comfortable, and I still feel elegant and put together in it.

I paired it with my Vera earrings from Loren Hope. I still love these. They have such a glamourous, vintage feel!

My second outfit is a dress that I purchased from Poshmark. It’s a Gal meets Glam. I get so many compliments on the green color. It reminds me of Kelly green. It’s quite beautiful. I paired it with my pink Coach scarf from the outlet mall, my floral tote from Express and my Ann Taylor mules.

I paired my vintage earrings from Kimono Dragon. I remember seeing these on Instagram and just could not let them pass me by. My goal is to always look my best on the weekends. Honestly you just never know who you are going to run into. I have ran into people from my past and have been so glad that I was put together. It also helps with how people address me. I heard a quote recently that said, “Your clothes will speak for you first”. I think that I will always remember that.

I hope you all have found some weekend wardrobe inspiration! I will be sharing my favorite spring and summer scents next. Have a great week!

My Feminine Workweek Outfits

Good Morning Everyone,

Goodness we are back in the 40s! It is freezing here! So disappointing but oh well. On Friday, my husband and I went to our first Guild cocktail party! We had a really nice time.

I wanted to be comfortable, so I wore my fav blush lace blouse, shimmer skirt, Ann Taylor pumps, and Ann Taylor pearl clutch. My husband wore is white blazer and navy slacks. I told him that he had a “Great Gatsby” look. Do you also notice the Sarah Flint scarf in his handkerchief holder?

We had a great time! I also finished my first shifts as a docent. I will be sure to share the Showhouse for this year later this week.

In today’s post, I am sharing what I would wear to work on a normal basis.

In this photo you will see a pink blush blouse. It is the same blouse that I am wearing in the photo with my husband. I try to have pieces in my wardrobe that I can wear to multiple places. I actually have this blouse in cream and blush. I love it! It is from Express (last season). The skirt is actually from Amazon and I have it in 3 different colors. The floral tote is from Express . It’s still available and only $47! The cream sandals are from Ann Taylor and are so chic!

One of my favorite work week perfumes is Aerin Lauder Rose de Grasse. Every time I wear it people follow me and ask what it is! It’s lovely!

Next is this beautiful lace top that I found on the Express clearance rack! I paid only $20 for it and I normally wear it with a cardigan if the office is too cold and I brooch to close up the chest part. My skirt is from H&M. I purchased it about 10 years ago. My shoes are the beautiful Rose’s Parker Sling from Sarah Flint and my handbag is the Louis Vuitton On the Go tote.

I would wear these vintage clip earrings with this outfit to the office. They add just enough sparkle to my outfit.

This is a third example of what I would wear to the office. My blue blouse is from Ann Taylor (last season). I have it paired with a regular black skirt, my Sarah Flint Perfect Emma Gracie. My handbag is from MME.Mink. Everything in this photo is sold out.

I would pair this outfit with my earrings from Nicole Bathie.

Here is a fourth example. I love this sage green blouse that I got from Ann Taylor about 4 years ago. The skirt is the navy version of my pink skirt from Amazon, the heels are from T.J. Maxx, the pearls are J Crew (you can find these on Poshmark), and the floral tote is Tory Burch which I found at the outlet mall 2 years ago.

I have paired this with one of my favorite scents, Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan

And my last outfit inspiration is this blue and white dress that I found at Old Navy last summer, my Sarah Flint Perfect Emma Gracie, my Mme.Mink tote and J Crew pearls. I have never been afraid to mix colors and patterns. I believe mixing colors and patterns makes your wardrobe fun and you will wear more of it. I am not matchy-matchy and never will be. Wear what you love!

With this outfit I wore my favorite scent from Bath and Body Works, Night Blooming Jasmine. I hope they bring it back. I adore it!

I hope that you found some wardrobe inspiration from my looks. Let me know in the comments section below what your favorite items were. I would love to know. Have a great day!
