New Sarah Flint Gracie Collection

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I am looking forward to my four-day weekend! I need to get some things done in the home. I hope to do a “phone cleanup” and clean out my handbags. I also need to get some things on my calendar that need to be scheduled. We plan on keeping it quiet at our home. I enjoy the 4th of July, but some people just overdo it. Lighting fireworks until 2 or 3 in the morning is a bit much but it is what it is.

My recent hair salon visit went very well. I am happy to say that I have a new hair stylist and will be going to her for my upkeep. She was wonderful and very nice. I also did my floral prep training at Random Acts of Flowers. I can now start volunteering at this organization. Yay me!

I hope you all got my recent newsletter. In that newsletter, I share the new Gracie Collection from Sarah Flint. You guys I am so happy that they did a second collaboration! It is gorgeous!

I have honestly been smitten with the new kitten heel pump since it launched last year. Seeing it in the new Gracie print is like a grandmillennial dream!

Just look at the block heel sandal. The pink is the perfect pink. It doesn’t look like a Barbie pink or a neon pink. I call it an “elegant lady pink”. Aren’t they just lovely?

I cannot get enough of this pink! This is the Natalie Ballerina in the pink Holts garden print. I believe that once these are sold out this particular shoe and print will be extremely sought after! Just my opinion.

Sarah shared in a recent Zoom meeting that this is the very first Oxford that she has created. I believe most of the sizes in this shoe are sold out already!

I actually love these as well. I was torn between these and the Perfect Pump Kitten heel 50. I believe that Sarah did a phenomenal job using a men’s silhouette to accomplish this design. It was executed well.

The last thing that I wanted to share were the custom Gracie shoe bags! I saw these on the Sarah Flint Instagram stories and fell in love! I believe each pair will come with a custom shoe bag like this. What a beautiful surprise! I have already reached out to ask if I could also purchase an additional set of the shoe bags? I would love to have these for traveling. If you see a pair that you love don’t hesitate to use my code SARAHFLINT-BASMSSHOCKLEY for 60$ off your order. We still have people asking about last year’s Gracie collection. We hope that Sarah will re-launch but there are no guarantees. Order while you can!

Have a great 4th of July!

Weekend Wardrobe

Good Morning Everyone!

Whew, another busy weekend! We had Lauren’s college orientation on Friday and her Open House Party on Saturday. We did a lot of walking at the college and her open house turned out very well. Next weekend we are headed to her roommate’s open house to support and hang out.

Yesterday I had lunch with my Guild Friends. We ate at a place called Shaprio’s and it was great catching up. The week before I had brunch with my cousin, and I am planning another lunch here soon with my co-workers and another friend. I am trying to get out and have more social events with people. I am trying to build relationships!

Speaking of weekend and social events, I wanted to share my weekend wardrobe. Now I do have a few dresses that I only wear on the weekends but for the most part I wear all my clothes. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen these pieces already.

In the first outfit I have my blue navy dress from Old Navy, my cream ruffle cardigan from H&M, my Quadrant tote from Tory Burch and my cream mules from Ann Taylor

This outfit is so comfortable, and I still feel elegant and put together in it.

I paired it with my Vera earrings from Loren Hope. I still love these. They have such a glamourous, vintage feel!

My second outfit is a dress that I purchased from Poshmark. It’s a Gal meets Glam. I get so many compliments on the green color. It reminds me of Kelly green. It’s quite beautiful. I paired it with my pink Coach scarf from the outlet mall, my floral tote from Express and my Ann Taylor mules.

I paired my vintage earrings from Kimono Dragon. I remember seeing these on Instagram and just could not let them pass me by. My goal is to always look my best on the weekends. Honestly you just never know who you are going to run into. I have ran into people from my past and have been so glad that I was put together. It also helps with how people address me. I heard a quote recently that said, “Your clothes will speak for you first”. I think that I will always remember that.

I hope you all have found some weekend wardrobe inspiration! I will be sharing my favorite spring and summer scents next. Have a great week!

My Feminine Workweek Outfits

Good Morning Everyone,

Goodness we are back in the 40s! It is freezing here! So disappointing but oh well. On Friday, my husband and I went to our first Guild cocktail party! We had a really nice time.

I wanted to be comfortable, so I wore my fav blush lace blouse, shimmer skirt, Ann Taylor pumps, and Ann Taylor pearl clutch. My husband wore is white blazer and navy slacks. I told him that he had a “Great Gatsby” look. Do you also notice the Sarah Flint scarf in his handkerchief holder?

We had a great time! I also finished my first shifts as a docent. I will be sure to share the Showhouse for this year later this week.

In today’s post, I am sharing what I would wear to work on a normal basis.

In this photo you will see a pink blush blouse. It is the same blouse that I am wearing in the photo with my husband. I try to have pieces in my wardrobe that I can wear to multiple places. I actually have this blouse in cream and blush. I love it! It is from Express (last season). The skirt is actually from Amazon and I have it in 3 different colors. The floral tote is from Express . It’s still available and only $47! The cream sandals are from Ann Taylor and are so chic!

One of my favorite work week perfumes is Aerin Lauder Rose de Grasse. Every time I wear it people follow me and ask what it is! It’s lovely!

Next is this beautiful lace top that I found on the Express clearance rack! I paid only $20 for it and I normally wear it with a cardigan if the office is too cold and I brooch to close up the chest part. My skirt is from H&M. I purchased it about 10 years ago. My shoes are the beautiful Rose’s Parker Sling from Sarah Flint and my handbag is the Louis Vuitton On the Go tote.

I would wear these vintage clip earrings with this outfit to the office. They add just enough sparkle to my outfit.

This is a third example of what I would wear to the office. My blue blouse is from Ann Taylor (last season). I have it paired with a regular black skirt, my Sarah Flint Perfect Emma Gracie. My handbag is from MME.Mink. Everything in this photo is sold out.

I would pair this outfit with my earrings from Nicole Bathie.

Here is a fourth example. I love this sage green blouse that I got from Ann Taylor about 4 years ago. The skirt is the navy version of my pink skirt from Amazon, the heels are from T.J. Maxx, the pearls are J Crew (you can find these on Poshmark), and the floral tote is Tory Burch which I found at the outlet mall 2 years ago.

I have paired this with one of my favorite scents, Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan

And my last outfit inspiration is this blue and white dress that I found at Old Navy last summer, my Sarah Flint Perfect Emma Gracie, my Mme.Mink tote and J Crew pearls. I have never been afraid to mix colors and patterns. I believe mixing colors and patterns makes your wardrobe fun and you will wear more of it. I am not matchy-matchy and never will be. Wear what you love!

With this outfit I wore my favorite scent from Bath and Body Works, Night Blooming Jasmine. I hope they bring it back. I adore it!

I hope that you found some wardrobe inspiration from my looks. Let me know in the comments section below what your favorite items were. I would love to know. Have a great day!

Shopping with Discernment

Good Morning Everyone,

I am so ready for sunny weather. It doesn’t even have to be really warm just sunny weather. We have had snow flurries, rain, snow, rain, bitter cold temperatures, and more rain. Goodness! My peonies are starting to come up and I am getting a little worried. I am also ready to wear some of my pretty Amazon sandals! I purchased these in blue and black. I can’t wait to wear them!

Speaking of shopping, in my post today I wanted to talk about how I am trying to shop with more discernment. Remember a few years ago how I was talking about how I did not want to do any “bogus shopping”? I am still working on that, and I must say that I am getting better and better as the years pass.

I was doing some shopping recently and noticed how I take more time to purchase an item. I think about how this would fit into my wardrobe. How I can wear multiple items with it. I think about the colors and if I have colors that go well with it. How is the fit? Is the dress or skirt long enough?

I then begin to ask myself a few serious questions. How long do I think I will have this? Will this item stand the test of time? Will I be able to wear this in 10 years?

I also noticed that when I have my eye on something I dig a little more. I try to find videos on YouTube of someone giving a review. I read the reviews on the website. I am even pulling out a measuring tape trying to gauge how big the item is and where it will land on me. Honestly, I was not doing all these things before.

So what has changed? I think all of the “bogus shopping” that I have been doing all of these years finally caught up with me. I noticed how lots of those items ended up in my donation bag or on Poshmark and it really started to bother me! Because once you start to add up how much you are spending and how much is ended up in that donation bag you then realize that you are literally throwing money away! I am trying to hardest at this point in my life to really pay attention to my wardrobe and really get serious about how I want to look and how much I want to spend!

What do you all think? Tell me below what your wardrobe journey has been like? I would love to hear your stories and learn something from all of you. Have a great weekend!

Blue Elegance

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did a little running around. I did not make it to Simply Chic but I did go to Style Encore which is a consignment store near me. I went in and walked right out. I don’t know if it is me, but I saw nothing that I wanted and I saw nothing elegant. I used to be able to find a skirt, a blouse, cardigan, and a handbag. Now it’s all this weird looking stuff that looks like you can wear it at home.

I don’t know. I feel a little frustrated with fashion recently. Even finding beautiful, elegant dresses for my boutique has been hard and expensive. I also went antiquing. I did not find anything there either. It’s okay. I am on the hunt for a new dining room table and new chair. I will be using that as office furniture, so the hunt continues.

This morning I am headed to my second house shift duty for the Guild. I will be there for only a half day. Then after that I hope to be picking up my car and then headed to a funeral. Enough sad stuff for today, I did want to share the next Sarah Flint fashion item that is on my radar!

I don’t know about you, but I shrieked when I saw this new silk scarf on the Sarah Flint new arrival launch. In all fairness, I saw it weeks ago and shrieked then! It is gorgeous! It’s called the Royal Kingdom Scarf 90 and is a sheer must for my wardrobe.

It is hand painted by an artist named Sucharita Sengupta Suri. Just look at all the details.

I am loving all of the colors, the regal peacocks, cheetahs, and whimsical details.

I honestly cannot wait to order this! It’s so beautiful. I wish a had a store close by. I would love to see this in person. What do you all think? Do you love the designs? I know I do. I hope you all enjoy the new collection and of course do not forget to use my code if you find that you cannot live without a pair of her shoes! Use code SARAHFLINT-BASMSSHOCKLEY for $50 off!

Have a great week everyone! Oh I do have something planned for Wednesday. My group the Guild is a having a flower arranging party! We are going to be making bouquets for patients at the hospital and making one for ourselves! I will be sure to share it on the blog!

Teddy Blake ~ A Review

Good Morning Friends,

I feel as though I got a lot completed this week. I got some things accomplished at the office and some of my business responsibilities are completed as well. Tomorrow is my first house shift duty at this year’s showhouse. I will share photos if I can. It will not be a lot because the interior designers are just started the renovations. I am excited to see the process!

I got into a car accident this past Tuesday evening. A gentleman with no driver’s license, no insurance, and barely spoke English hit my car. Now the damage is bad but not bad. I will be dropping it off on Monday for repair and hopefully picking up my rental. My car is still drivable. He hit my front driver side light. The bumper has damage. The light is busted, and my camera was hanging out. It’s okay. I was just in shock at how it happened. He turned from the far-left lane into my car. I don’t understand it.  The good thing was a witness riding behind me saw the whole thing and stayed with me until the police came! Now how wonderful was that! I am looking forward to getting my car in the shop on Monday that is for sure.

Now on to something fun!

A few weeks ago I made a purse purchase. Now I have been on the hunt for a cream-colored tote and honestly, I still am. I saw Jennifer L. Scott’s review on Youtube and decided to take a look at Teddy Blake. I really liked the bag that she had. So I ordered the Gigi Palmelatto in light beige.

Now the bag was beautiful! Jennifer did not lie about the craftsmanship. This bag was so well-made, and the smell of the leather was heavenly. The size was perfect, and it was wonderfully chic! I have no complaints. The only thing was I did not like how complicated the hardware was. I like to be able to get into my bags pretty easily and this bag was not easy for me. Also, the color was not as light as what I wanted so the quest continues for a cream-colored tote.

Would I recommend Teddy Blake? Absolutely! I am still searching their website for beautiful bag, but I am not in a hurry.

I do love my Kate Spade Manhattan Houndstooth tote! The organizational components that it has suits my life so well! As I stated, the quest continues. Let me know in the comments section below if you have a Teddy Blake handbag and if so, what are your thoughts. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We have been getting snow all week and to be quite honest I am very happy to see it. Enjoy!

Cameo Details

Hello Everyone!

I did so much better these past two week with my bedtime. Getting rest is really important to my body and it lets me know when it’s not happy. Did any of you see the new book that Jennifer L. Scott shared on her Instagram? It’s called “Fast like a Girl” A Woman’s Guide to Using the Healing Power of Fasting to Burn Fat, etc”.  I am really curious about it. I have hit a wall with my weight loss, and I am trying to figure out where I am now. I know that I am having some hormonal changes and I am trying to learn about that as well. Let me know if you have done intermittent fasting. I am so curious about everyone’s results.

I also wanted to know if any of you have watched the Wedding Veil Series on the Hallmark channel? I absolutely love this series and I am so happy with how it is written, the cast, and the story line. First off, they all have careers in the Arts! Now how great is that? They did such a great job with this series. This past weekend I watched the 5th installment called The Wedding Veil Inspiration. I loved this one as well. I also try to pay attention to the details after I watch it a first time. I pay attention to their homes, their offices, how the dress, etc. In this particular episode I fell in love with Lacey Chabert, “Avery”, cameo brooch on her beautiful pink coat!

So I tried to pause the movie and take a photo of it. Can you see it? How lovely is that?

I tried to get a photo up close, but this is the best that I could get. Now you guys know that this inspired me and put me on the hunt to search for something similar. I did find a few on Etsy. I found this one, this one, and this one

I’ll be sure to share whatever I order. Let me know in the comments below if you have been watching the series. Do you enjoy it? Yes or no? Have a great weekend!

Oh I must tell you all! Sarah Flint is having a 40% off select styles sale! Oh my goodness, get over to the website! A pair that you love just might be included. If not then don’t forget to use my code SARAHFLINT-BASMSSHOCKLEY for $50 off your first order!
