Elegant Clothes and Feminine Accessories

My Denim Shirt

Denim, denim. I have never been a fan really but I recently saw this beauty on the New York and Company website.

It is called the Ruffled Denim Jacket. It is really chic and I really like it!

I wore it to work on a casual Friday and it worked really well. It was comfortable and still classic. I was very happy with this purchase.
Of course everyone around me was saying, “oh goodness, you’re in denim”!!! It was a shock to many but I was still able to keep my normal attire and I made it work for me. I added the brooch and a gold bracelet. It was great!
I hope that you enjoy this jacket. It is the ONLY denim item in my wardrobe. If they keep making chic pieces like this I might be able to add more.

My Louis Vuitton Collection

Today’s post is about my Louis Vuitton collection. I have purchased 4 since 2015. They are all pre-owed but I love them!

I wrote about my first purchased here and then my second purchase here. My third purchase came from my favorite store Von Maur and I wrote about it here.
My Louis Vuitton Neverfull (2007) and my vintage 1980’s LV tote.
This is the oldest one that I own. I have been having some problems with the handles but nothing a little leather cleaner and conditioner can’t fix.
My Sac Plat Tote (2008). Great bag!!!!
The newest addition. It is called the Rivoli Briefcase (1999). It is another vintage purchase and I found it on Tradesy. People have been stopping me left and right about this one. It is so rare. No one has really seen one. I must admit my first time seeing it was on Tradesy.
I have had it for about 3 weeks and I have been loving it! It is so chic! Most of my Louis Vuitton totes are vintage so you do have to manage them a little differently. Keeping an eye on them is a must!
My husband keeps asking me if I am done buying these and I just smile and say, “Well I will try”. I would like a Louis Vuitton trunk but I know those are a fortunate. I will wait patiently. I believe in my heart that I will be able to get one in the future.
I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you are interested go and visit Tradesy today.

My Vintage Spider Brooch

I think I mentioned here on the blog how I have been trying to find a bug brooch. Well, I recently stumbled onto one when I was shopping on Ebay. I found this lovely beauty and just had to bid on it.

It is a vintage spider brooch from the 1940’s (I believe). The previous owner purchased it from an estate sale. I was so excited to see it and just had to have it for my collection.

It is a head turner for sure!
I have had people stop me left and right for it. I think some people are a little taken back by it but I don’t care. I do enjoy it and know that there is no other quite like it. I would encourage anyone to check out Ebay and look for vintage brooches. It is a wonderful thing to be bold and elegant on your own.

Draping Pearls on Your Wrist

I was inspired to do this when I saw this photo on Pinterest some years back…..

I wrapped my vintage Marvella pearl necklace around my wrist.
I was inspired by this photo of Carmel Snow and Chanel. Just look at how her pearls and bracelets drape from her wrist. Sheer elegance right? I just admire that so much.
I hope that this post inspires you to take a second look at your pearls. Maybe you can do the same. Wrap them around that beautiful wrist of yours and wear them. Enjoy your vintage items!

Converting my Earrings

I love shopping for earrings but there is one thing about earrings that drives me crazy and it is where the post is positioned. I like to have my earring post in the center of the earring. It balances well on my ear when they are made that way. But I have been seeing a lot of earrings where the post is at the top of the earring. Oh, that drives me nuts because then I know that when I wear it; it will pull on my earring hole more. So now when I find an earring that is made that way I convert it.

I purchased these recently. They are fine but I hate where the post is.

Do you see? It is at the top of the earring which would mean pain for me.
So I purchased a bag of these from Hobby Lobby.

I break off the one that is on the earring and superglue the new one to the center. It is so much more comfortable for me and the earring is hanging from the center of my earring instead of dangling.
I have been doing this for years. Here is another pair of earrings and brooch that I had to fix. I glued new backs to the earrings and a new fastener to my brooch.

I let everything sit for 24 hours before I wear it. It’s a fun little craft and it helps me continue to wear my jewelry. I do hope that you enjoyed this post and that it inspires you to come up with some ways to repair your jewelry. Especially, if it is jewelry that you adore.
Enjoy!!!!

A little Von Maur Shopping

Sorry about my delay last week. My daughter and I raked leaves last weekend….. turned out to be a BAD idea for me! I am was so sore! Goodness gracious!

Last Sunday we had a few errands to run. Honestly, I hate going out now since it is Christmas time. The stores are just unbearable to me and I just don’t want to deal with the hostility of it all.

I did however make it to one of my favorite stores. I love Von Maur and have written about it many times here on the blog. I didn’t buy much but just wanted to share a few things…..

Love this wrap by Calvin Klein.

The Christmas decor everywhere is always beautiful.

Love buying undergarments.

Okay, I am not a lingerie kinda of girl. I like long silk gowns that are comfortable. In fact I purchased this red one that you see here. If you are interested you may purchase it here.

Love the extra large Christmas trees that they have.
They are so beautiful and make the whole store feel so festive!

Of course, I have to stop to see what Louis Vuitton’s they have.
This is where I purchased mine last year.

Love the baby blue color of this Kate Spade tote.
If you are interested in purchasing this you may see it here.

Lots of stripes this year….

The last stop was looking at fresh water pearls.
I purchased a set about 2 years ago. I still love them!
Window shopping is always a great way for me to relax. I also get great ideas this way. I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and are ready for the new year!
