Selling on Poshmark

I am sure most of you have heard of Poshmark. If you have not then you might be missing out. Poshmark is an online website where you can list items from your closet that you do not want anymore and would like to make some extra cash.

I have been a member since 2013 and have never listed anything. I was recently thinking about all of the nice items that I just drop off at the Goodwill and a friend reminded me of Poshmark. So I took the chance and listed some of the items.

I was a bit nervous. I was worried about shipping and package accessories for my items if they sold. But Poshmark has made everything so easy. Once you make a sale (I DID) they then email you the pre-paid shipping label. You print it out and place it on the box and ship it! So easy! If you need boxes or shipping supplies go to your local post office and they have priority boxes for free!!!

I must admit I have been selling for a week on Poshmark and I love it! Here are some of the items that I have for sale on my page.

Floral top

Lace blouse

New York and Company dress

Straw purse
Sheer pink dress (just sold!)

Green loafers

Fragrance mist (just sold!)

J Crew glitter top

Because I have made some sales it has enabled me to make some purchases. Once you make a sale you ship the item. When it arrives the buyer hits the “accept” button and your funds are released. It then goes into your “redeemable” balance and you can transfer them to your bank and use them to make other purchases. I must admit I have been making other purchases. This is what I bought so far.
Freshwater pearl bracelet (just ordered)

Ninewest kitten heels, fabulous! I have worn them already!

Gold Chanel pearl brooch! So chic!
It has been a wonderful experience (so far) and I hope to continue to do well on Poshmark. If you wish to see my page download the Poshmark app or go to the website and sign up. I should be under sshockley and Sms S.
Thanks for reading!!

Beautiful Trinkets at H & M

Well we are back home from my week long work-training trip in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, I only got to see the indicator tree in full bloom. A snow storm hit D.C. on Wednesday that shut down the city and slowed down the process of the cherry blossom trees.

No need to worry, they were not damaged and apparently are on track to bloom the first week of April. My husband and I are seriously considering taking a 3-day weekend trip to seem them. Just me and him no kids. We have NEVER done this before but we are thinking about it.

So this week I will be sharing some beautiful finds, items that I purchased and places that I visited while in D.C. I hope that you enjoy this week’s posts.

Now today I wanted to share some beautiful home trinkets at H & M.

Now I love this tote! I saw it in person in D.C. but I saw it in the beige not pink and the H & M store there was closed because of the snow storm!
The next chic item that I adore is this porcelain cup.
Isn’t this a wonderful little cup? I would love to have this for my morning hot water, lemon and honey.
Now isn’t this a wonderful item? So feminine and elegant. I am torn!!! I want both the pink and turquoise. I would use one for hand lotion on my desk and the other for soap.

Another great little trinket. Can’t you see this on your dresser next to a bouquet of lilies? Oh tres’ chic! I want this one in pink and turquoise also.
Who doesn’t want a great pineapple? I have a few and this one is really cute. There is also a ceramic one that is only $3.99!
Now doesn’t this look like something you would find on your chic grandmother’s dresser with her vintage pearls and Hermes scarf? I adore it and think it adds great texture to your vignette.
And finally this glass dome looks like a wonderful item to have for any home. It’s so versatile. You could use it for flowers, small decor items or just have it by itself in a room or on a table. It’s quite lovely.

It looks so stunning with the orchid in it. All of these gold accessories are available on the website.
I hope that this post provides you with beautiful inspiration for your home. All of the prices are great too which makes it really hard not to buy everything!!! Enjoy!!

Sage Kitten Heel

This is just a quick shoe post. I know some women don’t like kitten heels but I am such a fan of them. I found this just walking around Payless.

I love the color. You guys know that pink blush and dusty rose are just my absolute favorite colors. These are called the Sage Kitten Heels by Christian Siriano. They are really comfortable and very chic. There is a cute little black bow on the side of them.

I hope that you can stop by and take a peek at them. Enjoy!!!!

My Denim Shirt

Denim, denim. I have never been a fan really but I recently saw this beauty on the New York and Company website.

It is called the Ruffled Denim Jacket. It is really chic and I really like it!

I wore it to work on a casual Friday and it worked really well. It was comfortable and still classic. I was very happy with this purchase.
Of course everyone around me was saying, “oh goodness, you’re in denim”!!! It was a shock to many but I was still able to keep my normal attire and I made it work for me. I added the brooch and a gold bracelet. It was great!
I hope that you enjoy this jacket. It is the ONLY denim item in my wardrobe. If they keep making chic pieces like this I might be able to add more.

My Louis Vuitton Collection

Today’s post is about my Louis Vuitton collection. I have purchased 4 since 2015. They are all pre-owed but I love them!

I wrote about my first purchased here and then my second purchase here. My third purchase came from my favorite store Von Maur and I wrote about it here.
My Louis Vuitton Neverfull (2007) and my vintage 1980’s LV tote.
This is the oldest one that I own. I have been having some problems with the handles but nothing a little leather cleaner and conditioner can’t fix.
My Sac Plat Tote (2008). Great bag!!!!
The newest addition. It is called the Rivoli Briefcase (1999). It is another vintage purchase and I found it on Tradesy. People have been stopping me left and right about this one. It is so rare. No one has really seen one. I must admit my first time seeing it was on Tradesy.
I have had it for about 3 weeks and I have been loving it! It is so chic! Most of my Louis Vuitton totes are vintage so you do have to manage them a little differently. Keeping an eye on them is a must!
My husband keeps asking me if I am done buying these and I just smile and say, “Well I will try”. I would like a Louis Vuitton trunk but I know those are a fortunate. I will wait patiently. I believe in my heart that I will be able to get one in the future.
I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you are interested go and visit Tradesy today.

My Vintage Spider Brooch

I think I mentioned here on the blog how I have been trying to find a bug brooch. Well, I recently stumbled onto one when I was shopping on Ebay. I found this lovely beauty and just had to bid on it.

It is a vintage spider brooch from the 1940’s (I believe). The previous owner purchased it from an estate sale. I was so excited to see it and just had to have it for my collection.

It is a head turner for sure!
I have had people stop me left and right for it. I think some people are a little taken back by it but I don’t care. I do enjoy it and know that there is no other quite like it. I would encourage anyone to check out Ebay and look for vintage brooches. It is a wonderful thing to be bold and elegant on your own.

Draping Pearls on Your Wrist

I was inspired to do this when I saw this photo on Pinterest some years back…..

I wrapped my vintage Marvella pearl necklace around my wrist.
I was inspired by this photo of Carmel Snow and Chanel. Just look at how her pearls and bracelets drape from her wrist. Sheer elegance right? I just admire that so much.
I hope that this post inspires you to take a second look at your pearls. Maybe you can do the same. Wrap them around that beautiful wrist of yours and wear them. Enjoy your vintage items!
