Ideas on how to clean and organize the home

A Simple Cookware Organizer

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day weekend. My weekend was very quiet. I didn’t get out of bed on Mother’s Day until 10:30! I just wanted to lay there and so I did. I made myself a nice breakfast, sat in my sitting room, and read. It was quite enjoyable.

It has been unseasonably cold here in Indy. But I am not complaining, I love it! In today’s post, I wanted to share this recent organizational find from Amazon.
This is how my pot cabinet looked. I was so frustrated with it but had no idea how to fix it.

There is pot residue in my cabinets from years of moving them around.

Then I saw this cabinet pan organizer. Once I looked at the price I knew I had to have it!

I also ordered this lid organizer from Amazon but saw that it was sold out so I found this one and this one.

I am so glad that I ordered these tools to use in my cabinets. My space looks so much better and orderly.

Thank you to everyone who reads my blog. I do appreciate your visits and comments. Have a great week!

My First Grove Collaborative Order

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are still well. We are hanging in there. At the end of the week, we will find out if our state will open up for business. I really don’t know. It’s hard because you don’t want to put people at risk but you don’t want to see people lose their jobs.

What a mess…

Okay on to something fun. Most of you know that I follow Jennifer L. Scott from the Daily Connoisseur and she recently shared her Mother’s Day Gift Guide. For the last few years, I have been so tempted to purchase some of the organic home cleaning supplies from Grove Collaborative.

When she discussed the new rose scent that was debuting I knew at that point that I WANTED to try it. So I ordered my first set.

So when my package arrived it looked so pretty. I got the dish liquid, hand soap, walnut scrubber, and one bottle of the all-purpose cleaner for free! I opened it and it smells just like fresh-cut roses. It is lovely.

I ordered a second bottle for the upstairs of the all-purpose cleanercleaning caddy, and brush set.

Now, this is a membership once you order but you can cancel. I believe you have to email them. I did push off my next order. You can select to push it off for a few months. I am going to think about it. I know when the holidays get here I want to try some of the Christmas scents and I may order a few as gifts. We will see.

Let me know in the comments section if you are a Grove Collaborative subscriber. I am curious about how others are using this system.

Thanks for reading!

Elegant Blue and White Storage Bins

Good Morning Everyone,

I must say being home for the last few weeks has given me a different perspective on things. I have been thinking more about what I really want to do. I really would love to launch a lifestyle company. That would be the dream..seriously… but we will see.

I have been finding more organizational items for my home. Below is the newest item that I discovered.

These are the Threshold Floral Bins and I purchased three of them. I saw them on a fellow blogger’s post and just had to order some. Blue and white….. I could not pass these up!

This is my printer station in my office. Now I have had these two storage bins for about 6 years and I thought it needed a little refresh. So this is before….

And this is after… so much better and it looks great. These two storage bins are pretty big. The price was not bad either. I have all of my files in both bins and it is orderly and nice.

The smaller bin went under my sink and I have filled it with my feminine toiletries. I hope you guys enjoy these beautiful little storage bins. I love the colors and the pattern. There is just something so beautiful and elegant about blue and white. I believe that I will always love it.

Have a great weekend!

Silverware Caddies

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend. I did a lot of online shopping but it’s mostly items for my home. I am trying to re-organize everything. I will share a few posts this week.

In today’s post, I wanted to share this great little silverware caddy that I found on Amazon.

I didn’t think the cups that hold the silverware would be this big but I am happy. I have been wanting a silverware caddy for a long time but I could never find one that I liked.
This is great for entertaining. I normally just have the silverware out for people to use but this looks so much better and the utensils have a location.
Now it did come with the metal caddy to hold the cups but I did not particularly care for it. I thought it was ugly and liked the idea of having my cups placed wherever I wanted.

Let me know in the comments section below if you use a silverware caddy for your entertaining purposes.

Have a great Monday!

A Travel Organzier

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was pretty quiet as it should be. We celebrated Easter at home. I put some steaks in the crockpot, made homemade mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. I moved around my office. Some of you may have seen that on my Instagram account. I am loving it so far. You know moving around furniture can sometimes change your life.

Especially for us. My family has a fit every time I move anything. But lately, I have been ignoring those complaints. I am the only one, for the most part, who cleans this house so let me be people!!!

Anyway today I wanted to share this great little travel organizer that I found on the LiketoKnowit app. It is called the Bagsmart Electronic Organizer.

It comes in 6 different colors. Of course, I ordered it in the soft pink. I wouldn’t have it any other way. The price wasn’t bad either so I had to order it.

Here is a great example of how you can use it. I think it’s awesome and can’t wait to use it the next time we travel.

I hope you all are doing well and are doing your very best during this crucial time. I have been trying to stay positive and not get into fear. That is so easy to do. Trying to stay grateful at all times.

Have a wonderful day!

Spring Cleaning in Other Areas

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend, practicing social distancing I am sure. I did quite a bit of online shopping. Oh my gosh, I have about 6 packages arriving this week.

I am sure that some of you saw on my Instagram that my 3-tier plate pedestal arrived and I couldn’t love it more!

I look forward to using it. Also arriving in the mail was my gorgeous pair of polka dot kitten heels from Ann Taylor. They were 60% off with free shipping!

I will share my other items once they arrive. Since I am home more that leaves more time for reading. My husband picked up a copy of Real Simple Magazine for me and as I was flipping through I saw an article called, “5 Things to Clean this Spring (No Elbow Grease Required)”.

The writer gave 5 areas to clean in our lives besides our homes.

1) Your conversations
I found this one to be interesting…

“One way we can “clean up” our conversations, especially with kids, is by talking about people as individuals rather than as a part of a group. You might think to tell your daughter that girls like math are good because you’re countering a nefarious stereotype. But in fact, when you talk about girls as a category, you set up a structure that allows others stereotypes to seep in. Get in the habit of talking about individual strengths; describe one woman as great at math, another as great at something else”.

~ Katherine D. Kinzler, PHD

2) Your Schedule

This gave me new insight into my routines.

“Look for commitments in our schedule that fill you with dread- those things you’ve been doing the same way for years, like a weekly staff meeting- and create new, less time-consuming ways to handle them. Try walking-and-talking meetings. Instead of sitting face-to-face, you can circle the block, which sets a natural time limit. You’ll also be moving and in the sun, and discussing hard things can seem easier. It works with kids and family too! Revamping how we fulfill our responsibilities can make them less onerous, and it carves out more time to do things we want to do”.

I hope that you all can find a copy of the magazine and read the other suggestions. I believe that spring cleaning all aspects of life can bring about great change and ideas.

Enjoy your Monday!

Ideas for Organizing

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been feeling the organizing and purging “bug” lately. I have been going through all of my drawers at home and in my office.

My husband recently came home with a copy of Martha Stewart’s new book, Organizing: The Manual for Bringing Order to Your Life.

I love it so far! Martha has her calendar in it for each month with all of her activities and then discusses them in the pages after. So great, but I will share more about her book later.

I did however wanted to share this awesome blog post from interior designer Randi Garrett about her kitchen drawer organizing tips.

I love all of the beautiful hand towels that she has in her drawers. I may take some inspiration from that and buy new nice towels for the kitchen.

And did you guys see this beautiful flatware? Oh my….

I hope you all enjoy this post from Randi. I know I am feeling really inspired to beautify my space.

Have a great weekend everyone!
