Items that I loved for the month

August Favorites ~ 2022

Good Morning,

Last week of August, well it’s the last few days of August! September starts this month! I will share my birthday wish list with you all soon! I did some more antiquing this weekend. I went to Midlands which is one of the most elegant antique stores that we have in my city. I am on the hunt for a new but vintage chandelier for my sitting room. I would like something a bit bigger and better quality. But let’s jump right into my favorites for the month of August!

The first on my list is sitting. I love having days where I can just sit. I took some time this weekend to sit a little more. I have not been sleeping well the last two weeks. I have been getting up an hour early and that really affected my body’s reaction. Having a day or two to just sit and relax is important!

Second is a new vintage Jasperware purchase! I ordered this teacup and saucer from eBay. I reached out to Katherine from Pender and Peony and asked if they were safe to drink from and she said yes so, I could not resist ordering one! It’s quite lovely!

Third is my bathroom. I love this room! I recently took a step back and just stared at it. I still can’t believe that my husband painted this for me. It’s still a dream. If you missed out on this small update you may read it here

The fourth has been my beautiful vintage perfume bottle! Katherine from Pender & Peony had a set of 2 but I missed the auction! So I went on Etsy to see if I could find one and I did! I found similar ones here and here if you are interested.

Fifth is my cameo bookmark and Coach notebook! Aren’t they a beautiful combination? The notebook is great for jotting down ideas and needs. The bookmark is the epitome of grandmillennial style! Both are quite affordable as well!

The sixth has been my antiquing adventures. I have gone antiquing a lot these past few months and have really enjoyed it. Just this past Saturday I found these reproductions. One of the Mona Lisa for about $375 and “Woman with a Parasol” by Claude Monet for about $300 as well. I didn’t buy either but wanted them both!

Seventh is my new garden stool! Isn’t she lovely? I purchased it from an online antique store on Instagram called Union Birch. I love it! I love the colors and design. It is still very similar to the chinoiserie look. Make sure that you follow her.

The eighth are more antique finds! I purchased this blue and white umbrella stand and this blue and white planter. My husband and I are planning on getting a concrete pad poured in our backyard. It will be soo nice to have a place for my table and chairs and to put some blue and white planters out!

The last on my list is this phenomenal home tour of the Breakers! If you guys enjoyed my posts or my Youtube video of my trip then you will really enjoy the in-depth tour that Homeworthy gives of this timeless property! Enjoy!

I hope you all have found some inspiration in my August favorites. I love sharing new things and new adventures. I do have some new beautiful grandmillennial inspired items on my “shop my favorites” page. You should check it out. Until then have a great Monday!

Oh and the boutique has a new arrival! My first transitional dress of the season is here. The Grace Checker Midi is so elegant. It’s navy and gray and perfect for this new autumn season!

July Favorites ~ 2022

Good Morning Everyone,

I had a wonderful weekend. I didn’t do a whole lot but the things that I did were marvelous. I went and visited the new antique store in Broad Ripple called French Pharmacie Flea and it did NOT disappoint! My husband had a friend’s surprise party to attend so my daughter and I went and had dinner at Longhorn. It was a really nice Saturday. Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to go and see Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris! I have no regrets. After watching the previews twice on YouTube, I knew that I had to go and see that movie! It was so inspiring! I teared up a few times during the movie but I smiled for the most part. I feel like Mrs. Harris all the time. I just want to take a leap!

I snapped a few photos from the antique store. It was right on point for me!

Okay now let me share my favorites for the month of July….

For one thing I did A LOT of antiquing this month. I just could not stop myself! I just keep finding all of these beautiful things. It’s been a little hard saying no to vintage jewelry. These are my recent purchases above. I found this gold and pearl vintage clip earrings and this pink and gold cameo. I paid under $20 for both!

Oh and I am wearing the boutique’s Ballet Lace Cardigan which is on sale for only $20!

My second favorite has been my MME.Mink Picnique Overnighter Tote! I wanted this two years ago but was just not sure. Now that I have it I must say that I love it! It’s quite large but boy is it a head turner!

Third was this year’s peony season! Now normally I am not able to find any this late, but we just kept finding these for the entire month of June! Here in Indiana, I stop seeing them around the first week of June but we just kept finding them and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Fourth was our summer trip! Most of you know that we went to Newport, Rhode Island this year and it was an absolute dream to me. I loved every bit of this trip. I will be sharing the home tours and other details in the weeks to come! I hope you enjoy it!

The fifth has been my giftshop finds from the home tours. After you tour each mansion, you walk downstairs to the gift shop. Each mansion had a gift shop! They all sold similar things, and this was one of them. I saw it and squealed a little. My husband then turned and looked and said, “okay, you can get it”! Yay! It is a chinoiserie champagne wine bucket, but I plan on using it as a vase. What do you all think? I did find a few on Amazon and other places. Check out my shop my favorites page to see them.

Sixth has been another vintage purchase. I found this company on Instagram called Kimono Dragon and they are located in New York. The owner goes to Paris to shop for vintage jewelry for her store. I love all of the unique pieces. I spotted this vintage Park Lane pearl necklace from 1980 on her website and could not resist.

Seventh is another gift shop purchase. I went to two gift shops trying to find this Chelsea Bird teacup and saucer set. I found it and set one to my friend Mrs. Shery as well. This was originally created in the 19th and can be found at the Kingscote mansion. We could not tour that home. It was closed to the public while we were there, but I was still happy to find this set!

This month’s list is going to be very long…

More antique finds. So do you all remember my first FBMP find? I purchased a 56-piece Johann Haviland set for only $50? Now what I did not have was the teapot. I went into one of my favorite antique stores and what do I see? The teapot…. I made an offer on it and he accepted it! Yay! I have also been on the hunt for this particular print. It’s the Burgess and Leigh Asiatic Pheasants blue and I found a few teacups and saucers on eBay. The person that I purchased this from still has a few. You can make an offer. Good luck!

The ninth are my special quote napkins. Lauren found these in the gift shop at the Breakers. She handed them to me and said, “you need to buy these”.

Tenth on my list was this “Derby style” hat that I found in the gift shop. I love Derby hats and hope that I can attend the derby some day!

I am going to enjoy wearing this hat!

And last on my list is this inspirational plate. I saw this in the gift shop as well. “Well-behaved women rarely make history”. I think sometimes you just have to leap. I hope you all enjoyed this month’s favorites. Have a wonderful Monday!

June Favorites ~ 2022

Good Morning,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I still can’t believe this is the last weekend in June! I had a wonderful time at the antique fair this weekend. I will be sure to share a few photos later!

Let’s get into my favs for the month of June. I had some fun favorites for this month…

My first favorite was the boutique’s Ballet Lace Cardigan. I actually kept a light pink for myself and loved wearing it with my blue dress to the office. It was so beautiful and super elegant. I really enjoyed wearing it and will be wearing it again soon.

Second was an antique trip that I took to a new store. It is called Vintage Whimsy and it’s a local store in Franklin, Indiana. My boss shared it with me this month and I had to take a look and I love this store! They have the prettiest things! I ended up purchasing two table cloths, a pair of vintage earrings, and my blue and white platter that I just hung.

The earrings look great…

The third item is my new passport!!! Happy Dance! It finally arrived last week and it only took 3 weeks. I was not expecting that! I am so happy to finally have this. For years I have talked about traveling to Italy, or France and this year I thought, “you know if an opportunity presented itself I would not be able to go because I don’t have my passport”. Right after I had that thought I suddenly felt “lead” to get it started and I am so glad that I did. I’m ready Lord!

Fourth is my new leather quilted bag! I saw this in the store and loved the crystal bird as the button and the soft leather. This is called the Kensington soft bag by Kurt Geiger London. He has other bags like this and this. It’s quite lovely!

The fifth is my new swan cake topper from the Cake Bake shop. Now I have no purpose for this but at only $15 why not order one? I may place it on a dessert in the new future. Maybe my cake for my 40th but I am not sure yet. If you love it I would encourage you to order it now. In a few months they will go back up in price! Move quickly….

The sixth are my new grandmillennial inspired cameo bookmarks. Aren’t these great? They are so different and wonderful. The price is surprising as well. You may order it here or here

Seventh has been my most recent fashion idea. I love tying scarves around my bags but I find that I don’t like the “tie” look. I love for a scarf to drape over the bag and around the straps but if I did that then I have to worry about losing it. I have lost scarves before… not fun. It then dawned on me that I had this vintage Anne Klein Lion scarf clip that I found on Poshmark a few years ago.  I am now using that to help with my drape look and provide security for my scarf.  I found some similar ones here and here. I love it!

Eight are my new chinoiserie journals that I found at the At Home store. I have tried multiple times to find these online but I can’t seem to locate them. If you have a store nearby I would go and check. These were by the cashiers and were under $10 each! Beautiful!

And the last item has been this book called Marella Agnelli The Last Swan. I have been reading this during my lunch hour and oh it is so good! I never knew who this woman was but I saw this book on Instagram years ago. It is such an interesting read. Marella was married to one of the Fiat leaders and she lived such a glamours life. I loved reading about her relationship with the Kennedys and Truman Capote. She also had a love affair with interior design and reading how she decorated the family homes was so educational. My daughter even loved the pictures in this book which is rare.

Well those are my favorites for the month of June. I am starting to get really excited. Our family vacation will be coming up here soon. I will share those details when the time gets closer. Have a wonderful Monday!

May Favorites ~ 2022

Good Morning,

I am still dreaming about my visit to the Cake Bake shop yesterday. I will be sure to share photos soon! I think I love these decorations the most. She decorated the shop in swans and roses. Need I say more?

Now I know I am a little late but let’s dive right into my favorites for the month of May….

First on my list is something that I stumbled on at the store. I think that I have shared this yogurt before called Oui. I LOVE this yogurt! It is so delicious and now they have a chocolate and vanilla version! Awww, it has shaved chocolate flakes in it with the creamy yogurt. It is truly a special treat. I hope you try it!

Second on the list is this bathtub caddy. I have been wanting one for a while so I decided to give this a try. It works great and has a little holder for your glass of wine. Let me know if you use a bathroom caddy. I think I may also try to order a wooden one. I will let you know!

Third on the list is my new dress coverup for my swimsuit. I am a very modest person when it comes to swimwear and I always wear a one-piece but I also love a craftan or dress to wear over my swimsuit especially if I am walking from place to place. I found this one on Amazon and ordered it right away!

The fourth is my Mother’s Day gift from my husband! I keep a “wishlist” photo gallery on my phone and he took a peek at it. This ring was on it so he ordered it. It’s the new embellished green teardrop ring from Nicola Bathie. It’s stunning! I took it to the jewelry store to ask about resizing and Ken who helps me all the time went on and on about how beautiful it was. It made me smile.

Fifth is this fun but chic tray table. My nightstand is a tad bit too small. I need a little more table space for my books and notes. When I get in bed I like to read and sometimes I may have an idea for the blog or I need to research some things so having this extra little table beside my bed has been great for note taking and books!

The sixth was my azalea bush that we purchased from the Biltmore about 3 years ago! It bloomed so beautifully this year and was a treat to look at while we sat on the porch.

Seventh is my tiffany blue beach cruiser. My husband purchased this bike for me about 5 years ago and I adore it! I ride it every year in my dresses. I can’t find my particular cruiser because it sold out years ago but I found this one and this one

The eighth has been this year peony season. You guys know that I am always excited when this season comes around. I will do a separate blog post with my visit to the peony festival and my peonies that grew in the front yard!

Ninth was my recent antique shopping visit. I have been doing way too much antiquing and need to slow down! But my recent finds have been sensational! I love every piece and love how they are adding substance and beauty to my home.

Well I hope you all enjoyed my favorites for the month of May. This month went by so fast to me. Lauren’s last day of school was last week and it hit me that she is a senior this year! A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL! I can’t believe it. This is going to be a busy year as we gear up for college, prom, and graduation. I am praying for a wonderful year for her!

I almost forgot about this wonderful home tour! I just found this channel. I hope you enjoy it.

Also we have another new arrival for the boutique. This is the Daphne Flutter Dress. It’s gorgeous! I wish I could order it in plus size. I would have for me! But I hope you all enjoy the new arrivals and don’t forget to add the Jasmine Pearl Brooch. It’s so pretty!

Enjoy!

April Favorites ~ 2022

Good Morning,

And we have finally hit 80 degrees! I can’t believe it. I don’t know how long it will stick around. We actually had snow last Monday! Good grief! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I did some normal shopping, ran my errands, did a few house chores, and got ready for the workweek. My mother-in-law’s birthday is Tuesday so we took her a gift yesterday.

We are still trying to figure out vacation plans for the summer. I know we are going to have to narrow things down here soon. Lauren gets out of school next month and then we only have about 8 weeks before school starts up again. Nuts right?

Well on to my favorites for the month of April…

First on my list is my gorgeous new umbrella from Sarah Flint. Honestly you guys I have not had the chance to use it yet. We are expecting some rain this week so maybe I will have the opportunity soon…

The second is a dear sweet friend that I met on Instagram. Her name is Olivia Claggett and she is an accomplished harpist! She reached out to me and sent me her album and I have to say that it was such a joy to listen to. I love songs 1, 6, and 11. She is very talented and has a beautiful album. Check out her Instagram page and purchase her album. I listened to it while I was working and it was WONDERFUL!

Third, are my lavender bath bombs from a company called the Honey Pot. I have been using their feminine products for over 6 months and I have to say that I am VERY pleased with the results. I use a lavender bath bomb every Sunday morning and I love the smell and enjoy all of the ingredients. I also love their feminine pads. They have mint in them and when you use them there is this overwhelming freshness in the area. It’s extraordinary!

The fourth was my delicious dinner at Carrabba’s. It is an Italian restaurant that my husband and I enjoy. I love their Tuscan grilled chicken, red mashed potatoes, and sauteed spinach. The bread with garlic herbs is delectable as well. Of course, I could not pass up a glass of white Moscato wine. Such a wonderful evening!

Fifth is a new Amazon purchase. I am loving this casual but chic dress. It comes in different colors. I have worn it a few times already. It’s easy elegance. If you are interested in my shoes they are here and my new cell phone case is here

The sixth is my morning walks. I love taking my morning walks. I walk about 2  1/2 miles around my subdivision and I enjoy every minute of it. Especially now with our trees beginning to bloom. Oh my….

Seventh is a new recent purchase but a gorgeous one! I was on the fence about ordering this tote from MME. Mink but I went ahead and took the risk. I am so glad that I did. As soon as I opened my package just I sigh….

Stunning isn’t it? I am going to love this bag for all time. Oh my goodness the details. I love the gold accents. The chain, gold tag (with my name on it), the gold fox, the gold purse feet, and the “H” on the side. It’s one of those bags that you just stare at not knowing what it is but it exudes elegance. People just stare at it….

Well that it is for April, well ….

I do LOVE this photo! My daughter took it. She helps out with some of my photos, videos, boutique, and blog. I may have to use this for future business photos. I hope you all have a great Monday!

March Favorites ~ 2022

Good Morning,

It’s Friday! It is also a very cold Friday. Our trees and flowers are beginning to bud. I hope everything can survive our 30-degree temps. I watched the entire first season of Bridgerton. Have any of you watched it yet? There were a few scenes that caught me off guard but other than that I loved the story. I am not sure if I want to dive into Season 2 yet. I need to take a break because I stayed up past my bedtime 3 times this week to watch the episodes. I am paying for it now because I am so tired. Let me know in the comments section below what your thoughts are if you have any.

It’s now time for my March favorites!

The first is my new blue chinoiserie canvas from At Home! I love this so much and so does my family. It fits the decor in my sitting room as well as everything downstairs. It’s a wonderful addition to my home decor.

The second is my new pair of Lulus sandals. These are a wonderful dupe to the Loeffler Randall sandals. They are much more comfortable to me and the heel height is easier on my feet. I would recommend buying these to anyone!

Third is this super comfy dress from Red Dress Boutique. I wore this to the office a few weeks ago and loved it with my heels. Place a cardigan over it and it becomes a wonderful wardrobe item!

The fifth is my recent antique find. I took a few days last week and went antique shopping and purchased this below.

Now the funny part is I purchased the stand sometime last year from the same store. This large porcelain planter was the same planter that was on it but I didn’t want to pay for it just yet. The stand alone was almost $100!  I thought well if it is meant for me to have this then when I come back it will still be here. Well, I went back and it was still there! So I asked the store owner if they would take less and they did! Yay me!

The sixth is this lovely photo from an Instagram account called French Lilac. I saw this in my feed and had to save it!

The vanity….. wow!

Seventh is Victoria Magazine’s upcoming book release. The Art of Collecting: Personal Treasures that Make a Home will be released next week and I already have it saved to my Amazon list to order! I can’t wait to see this book!

And lastly is my new leopard laptop case from Notiq. I reached out to them to find out if they had any more of the 15-inch laptop cases and they wrote me back with a yes! I ordered it right away and could not be happier!

I hope you all enjoyed this month’s favorites. I have a new arrival for the boutique. The plus-size lace cardigan has arrived and I am hoping to have it added to the boutique this weekend! I hope you enjoy it! Have a wonderful weekend!

February Favorites ~ 2022

And there goes February….. today is actually our 18 year Wedding Anniversary! I still can’t believe that I have been married that long. 18 years married, 19 years together. Goodness… I knew this next chapter of my life would be a bit different. With my step-sons in their mid-twenties, life is beginning to take on something different. I just pray and hope that we can enjoy it! Now on to my favorites for the month of February…

First on my list is one of my new book purchases. I actually just recorded a new video on my Youtube channel about my books. I will link it below.

The second was my solo lunch at the Rustic Root. I will be doing this again soon!

Third, are my gorgeous Born on the 5th sandals from Dillards! Just look at the photos. Need I say more?

Fourth are wonderful storage solutions that I found on Amazon. The first are these hydrangea storage bowls. They come in 4 different sizes and all of them have lids.

Here is the second set of storage bowls. These are actually good to store your produce in. I have been using them for my grapes. Each container has a strainer to help wash and drain your produce. I absolutely LOVE these! I am so glad that I ordered them. They come in a set of 3!

Fifth are my new antiques that I purchased from a new store that I found. I actually shared these on my Youtube channel. I purchased the glass perfume bottle, vintage brooch, and vintage hand mirror. A few of my followers on Youtube gave me lots of wonderful ideas for the perfume bottle. We will see what I end up using it for.

The sixth is this super cute reusable floral cup from a boutique called Morning Lavender. I use cups like this when I am running errands and want to take my hot tea with me or some orange juice. Just wash it out and put it back in your cabinet when you are done!

And last is my new leopard rug from Amazon. I can’t believe how much I love this thing. I saw it on Emily from Chic as a Mother’s LTK feed. I think it looks so wonderful with my grandmilliennial decor and blue and white. It feels a little more up-to-date and fun!

I really loved my February favorites. I hope you all do too! I have linked my recent Youtube video below if you want to take a peek at my new antiques and some of my favorite books.

I am also having a sale. The Stella Bow Satchel is now two for $30!!! You could get the pink and gray for only $30 for BOTH! Order one for yourself and a friend! Have a great Monday!
