My trips or places I would love to visit

The Madame

I did quite a bit of shopping while in South Carolina. One place we visited while walking on Main Street in Myrtle Beach was The Wildflower. It is a vintage boutique that carries lots of different things. The owner is a “picker” and goes to a lot of estate sales.

The one thing that caught my eye was the statue below. I have wanted one of these for sometime now. I saw one of my favorite designers Tobi Fairley with something like this in her living room and she put her Chanel pearls on it and I thought that was just fantastic!

Below are some of the items I saw and the statue that I purchased. I call her “The Madame”. I also posted the decorating video from Tobi Fairly and P. Allen Smith that gave me this idea. Have a great weekend!

My statue called “The Madame”. I only paid $20 for her.
I put my Chanel pearls on her too!!

She had beautiful seashells. I loved this one.
It reminded me of the seashells that Aerin Lauder has in her home.

She had loads and loads of vintage earrings.
Of course I purchased a pair.

The last pair with the blue is the pair I purchased from her.

Small Goodwill finds in South Carolina

Whenever we travel I always find a Goodwill store wherever we go. I love going to Goodwill stores in different states! I figured each state will have different items for sale and that is a great opportunity to get some lovely pieces in my home. I visited one in South Carolina, of course. I didn’t find any clothes but I found the picture and floral arrangements below.

My husband always gives me a hard time about faux flower arrangements but when we got in line to pay for my items a few ladies were “eyeballing” my arrangements. One lady even spoke up and said, “Well, I didn’t see those back there”. I just smiled and looked at my husband. I love my pieces and will enjoy having them in my home. If you missed my Goodwill shopping in New York post read it here.

My Andre Meyer picture and peony arrangements that I purchased at the Goodwill.
I paid $10 for the picture and $3.75 for each arrangement.

Here is a better photo of the picture. I love it!
Do you see the villa in the back?
I hung it in my upstairs hallway. Now I am just waiting on my husband to paint the walls.
Hint, hint!

Our Stay in South Carolina

Well, we are back home and back into the swing of things! Our vacation in South Carolina was wonderful! The weather was nice and warm and the flowers were already starting to bloom. We always stay at the Inn at USC when we visit Columbia. It is a wonderful hotel! It is so clean and I love the breakfast offered every morning!

Our room is always clean and I love using the gym facility. My daughter loves the hotel and that to me speaks volumes. I didn’t take any photos of our room because they came out too dark but here is a glimpse inside the hotel.

The lobby inside the hotel

I love the vase.

My husband and I outside the hotel. We were sitting in the rocking chairs.

We ate dinner at the Blue Marlin. This was the teriyaki salmon with yukon potatoes
and collard greens.

Outdoor dining at the Blue Marlin

This was my dinner at Hoskins Restaurant
I had fried chicken, a baked potato and cabbage.

My dessert… this was a caramel, pecan brownie cake.

This was the second hotel we stayed at. It was called Ocean Dive Beach and Golf Resort.
It was a great stay!

This was our view from the hotel we stayed in at North Myrtle Beach.

Vintage Rose ~ A Teacup Boutique

Now this is my kinda of store. For those of you who read my blog you can see that I am a big fan of china! I especially love teacups! I don’t know why but I do and Vintage Rose has a lot of them!

This little store is also located in Brown County, Indiana. It’s a sweet little boutique that sells hand-painted vintage pieces, vintage jewelry, hats and furniture. I saw about 20 teacups that I wanted! This year I noticed something new. They now sell bottles of room sprays. They smell so good! I purchased 2 of them and a pair of vintage earrings.

The prices are really reasonable. I only paid $10 for my vintage earrings and about $9 for the room sprays. The lady who runs it was so pleasant. Oh my gosh, she was a sweetheart! If you visit Brown County please make sure you stop by and see Vintage Rose. See my photos below. Enjoy!!!

Here are the room sprays. This is the scent called Roses.
It smells just like fresh cut roses.

This is called Magnolia. It was lovely.

Blushing Tulips, oh this was one of my favorites.
But my husband didn’t care for it too much
This is what I purchased from the store.
A bottle of pomegranate and roses room spray & a pair of green vintage earrings.
Once we left Vintage Rose we went to my favorite sweet’s store.
I believe it is called “Caramel Corn”.

They sell the best flavored popcorn and caramel covered anything here!
Here they have caramel covered marshmallows and caramel coated bacon!

Here is my favorite treat to get here every year! The granny smith caramel apple!
Oh so good!
Thanks for reading!
