Principles of a Gracious Life ~ Elegance

If you would like to read about my visit to the Biltmore Gardens see here.
“When we are sensitive to beauty in simplicity and mildness in manners, and choose to conduct ourselves in this consciousness, elegance results. Being refined in appearance, form, and style indicates that we not only respect and care for ourselves, but that we take others seriously as well. Showing interest and concern for and being receptive and responsive to those we come into contact with makes us examples of grace.”

    Dear Mrs. Shockley,
I am so pleased you are enjoying Alexandra Stoddard. She has a website with a monthly newsletter. She also enjoys receiving notes from readers AND she answers them. I have saved her notes in my books……she is just as gracious as you would imagine. She would love to hear from you!

    Warmly, Kathleen

Oh no problem Fiona! The one thing that I love about the "blog world" is that each of us is a teacher in some sort. We are all from different countries and states and we explore our own worlds and share with each other. I love it! I love seeing how other beautiful women live.

I'm confused about where this quote comes from. I think I have every book she's written, and I don't know this title. I couldn't find anything by this name on the Barnes & Noble website, either. Was this an article or something?

      Hello,
I retrieved this quote from a paragraph out of Alexandra Stoddard's book called Gracious Living in a New World. It was on page 318 of the book. It is on Amazon and they allow you to view inside the book. I hope you find it! I will be ordering it.
