Lunch at the Ayres Tea Room ~ 2017

Time for my Ayres Tea Room post! Yes, we went again for lunch and it is such a joy to go to! I love it but my family…. not so much. But they are good sports and go for me. I remind them that I only get to go once a year. If you missed my post from last year about it you may see it here.

Still love the wallpaper and the vintage photos.

My favorite hot tea to get while I am here.
Vintage silver for your hot tea.
Chicken velvet soup, always delicious! If you want to see the recipe you may view it here.

The Classic Tea Experience is what I always order.
This year was the first year we ordered dessert. This is the lemon berry marscarpone cake. It is a lemon sponge cake layered with mascarpone and mixed berries!
We had a lovely lunch as always and will be visiting again next Christmas!

What a lovely tradition! Your daughter will appreciate that you took her there, so much when she is a little older. You are fortunate to have this in your area. I live in rural Central Pennsylvania and would have to drive 45min to go to a tea room. I would love to go.Perhaps I can convince my husband! Thanks for the inspiration. You are beautiful!

      Hello,
I sure do hope that she appreciates it! She sure doesn't act like it now. We are very fortunate to have this in our area. I am very grateful. You are most welcome for the inspiration and thank you for the compliment!

I would love to go there! I am lucky, as my daughter and grand daughter love to go for Afternoon Tea.In fact, I like to do this at home as I have a good collection of cups, saucers and plates —so out they come along with my "good" teapot and I make scones and a sponge 🙂

You are very lucky!!! I don't know many girls that like to go for tea anymore so you are very fortunate. I have tea home too but I don't make scones. I may have to try that! Thank you for your inspiration!

    Dear Mrs. Shockley,
What a lovely tradition. I looked up Ayers and discovered the history. What a treat! Someone saved those recipes. Happy New Year to you and your family.

    Warmly, Kathleen

      Hello my friend,
Yes, someone did save those recipes. My husband bought me the recipe book when we were there last year. It is a wonderful tradition and I hope that my daughter will want to continue going. Happy New Year to you and your family as well!
