The Chic Assignments – Jennifer L. Scott

Okay, I have been so excited about this new monthly challenge by my favorite author Jennifer L. Scott called Chic Assignments. Not only am I working on civility but also trying to keep chic elegant activities going on in my life. I love that one of her readers came up with this idea! It’s wonderful! With all of the silly challenges that I see on social media, this one is worthwhile.

I believe that most of you are Daily Connoisseur fans so these challenges should not surprise you.

Alright so her first challenge was to listen to classical music. Well, I can check that off on my list because every morning in the office I have my Mozart station on my Pandora already going with my hot cup of tea.

My favorite piece is “Spring”: l. Allegro by Takako Nishizaki

You may listen to it here.
Secondly, I don’t use the ten-item wardrobe but I have been getting rid of items and selling them on my Poshmark account.
I am actually selling this dress right now on my Poshmark account.
For the third chic assignment, I have been incorporating natural products into my life and home. I have been using the Mrs. Meyer’s All Purpose Cleaner. You can view my blog post here about that.
And her last chic assignment was to read a book. I have been reading the Civility Solution, the Woman’s Herbal Apothecary, and the Inviting Life: An Inspirational Guide to Homemaking. Like Jennifer, I read about three books at a time.

I have really enjoyed these assignments this month. I can’t wait to see what Jennifer has planned for March. Please let me know in the comments section below if you have joined in or intend too! I would love to hear what chic activities you are all inspired to do. Thanks for reading!

Hi Mrs Shockley, I love the Jennifer too, been following her since day one. I did intend to listen to classic music but not done it yet. However I do dip in & out of classic fm on my way to work sometimes to set the tine for the day.
Like you both I am an avid reader, could only read one book at a time though. ?
Also I am slowly transitioning to a spring wardrobe, but I am going to donate my winter jumpers as soon as my lighter clothes go into my wardrobe. The ten item eardward is life changing. ??

      Hi Maria,
You are a Daily Connoisseur fan too? Wonderful! I have considered using the ten-item wardrobe but I know that I am not ready yet. I might be in the near future. I continue to hear great things about it. Thank you for stopping by!

Hi Mrs Shockley, I find classical music suits all my moods, especially Vivaldi. However my husband prefers Jazz, but we both enjoy each others music in small doses! I also enjoy Jennifers blog. I love that you demonstrate how an appreciation of the small things in life, can enhance your life on a daily basis. June

    Hello Mrs. Shockley ,
I have joined in on The Chic Assignments. I am hoping that Jennifer will continue this series of Chic Assignments. I have been reading The Civility Solution ,per your recommendation a few months and I just renewed my order for Victoria Magazine. I had slowed down on reading them, but feel inspired to start reading Victoria again. As for music, I really like your choice of Vivaldi-Spring. Its getting me in the spirit of Spring! So, thank you for the wonderful recommendation. Lastly, I got rid of some really nice maxi dresses that just aren't right for me. I had been holding on to them because they were quite pricey – but I don't wear them. Off to donation they went! I hope you continue to update your blog with The Chic series from The Daily Connoisseur. I am most inspired by your blog! Have a great weekend.

      Hi Mya,
Wow you have been reading the Civility Solution? That's great! I love Victoria magazine. I had to slow down on my magazine subscriptions also. I was paying a lot for the ones I had. I love Vivaldi-Spring. It's one of my favorites and as far as Goodwill donations, I am with you. I just donated a bag of items this past weekend. It was time for some of those items to go. I will continue to update my blog with Jennifer's Chic Assignments. I think it will be a fun series! Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Sometimes it's hard to believe that I inspire people!

    Hi Mrs. Shockley,

If I may ask, are you still doing the Chic Assignments? I have enjoyed them so much, but fell off the bandwagon back in the Spring. However, I am back on track. I seem to slack in the warmer months.
I especially appreciated the meal planning assignment here recently. I am meal planning again thanks to Jennifer!

    Talk soon,
    Mya

      Hello Mya,
Yes, I am still doing the Chic Assignments. I may not post about it every month but I am still moving along. I am with you. I loved the meal planning video. It was so inspiring. I still watch her bread making video.
