Good Morning!

It’s the last full week of August and I am looking forward to September. I love September. The air seems fresh and the flowers and trees are still in bloom.

I recently became a classic connoisseur member on Jennifer’s Youtube channel! It has taken me forever to join. I kept forgetting! I am so happy that I joined because it opened up a vault of other videos for me to watch.

In one of her videos, she shared a snippet from Alexandra Stoddard’s book called Living a Beautiful Life: 500 Ways to Add Elegance, Order, Beauty, and Joy to Everyday of your Life.

Now I have not heard of this book before but it sounded lovely. So of course, I headed over to Amazon and order it. It should be arriving sometime this week. I look forward to reading it. I have one of her books already and she is such a wonderful writer.

Also, I am so excited you guys! I made an offer on a third Gal Meets Glam dress on Poshmark! She wanted $100 for it and it is brand new with tags. A photo of the actual dress is below.

I offered $50 and she accepted! I really didn’t think she would and I was so surprised when I got the email that my offer was accepted! Yay! I hope that it will arrive this week and I hope it fits. My other two Gal Meets Glam dresses fit perfectly. I am hoping that this will fit the same way.

This is what the dress looks like on the model. I love the blue and the floral pattern. I can see it now with my light blush pumps from Kate Spade and maybe my quilted chain handbag. I am not sure which handbag but once I saw this dress I knew that I had to attempt to make an offer. So exciting!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know if you have read the book above by Alexandra. I am hoping that it will be an inspiring read.

Enjoy your Monday!

    Hello Mrs. Shockley,

So glad you joined the Chic Society. I have been wanting to ask if you had. I joined back in January and the videos have been great. I wondered why I hadn't seen your bedroom, where viewers can send in pictures of their chic bedrooms. Yours is so lovely.

I have one of Ms. Stoddard's books as well. It is called The Gift of a Letter. A much older lady I met in the local library told me about it. We chatted away about how people don't send letters or cards anymore-everything is text or email, and it's not very warm and personal. The Gift of a Letter is also great. There are ideas shared about letter writing. I just ordered Living a Beautiful Life after reading your post. Can't wait to read that too. And I do hope what you think of it. May I ask which of her books you already own? I always appreciate book recommendations from people that share the same way of living as I do.

    Best,

    Mya

Also, the seller did not accept my offer on the Gal Meet Glam dress I mentioned. I did not want to pay $113 for a dress brand I'm not familiar with-it is the sizing. And of course it can't be returned on Poshmark. But, I will keep looking. I love, love that dress,.especially the soft blue color.

      Hi Mya,
Yes, I know I should have joined Jennifer's memberships a while ago but I seriously would watch a video and then forget all about it. Crazy, I know. The Alexandra Stoddard book that I already own is called Gracious Living in a New World. I have had it for a few years now.
I am so sorry to hear about the seller not accepting your offer. No worries. I have made offers on a few of them and they were not accepted. I agree with you I don't want to pay over a $100. That is just too expensive to me. I hope you get one soon!!!!
