New Fabric Purchase

Good Morning Everyone,

I don’t want to complain but I am ready for some much-needed time off. I feel like I need another week of staycation! But as I look at the coming weeks things will start to slow down here soon. Honestly, I just want to sit in my bed, look at design books all day and watch my My Fair Lady with a cup of tea!

Okay, so today’s post is going to be a quick one. I was on eBay recently just looking around. Well, I was inspired by some of my favorite antique Instagram accounts to look for certain items. The first item has been this china pattern called pink Minton Cockatrice. I actually found some sets on eBay. The next has been chintz patterns. I started watching the pattern above about 2 weeks ago and it had quite a few bids on it. I only bid on the last day and at the last minute. I mean I literally wait until there are 30 seconds left and then I give my highest bid. It has worked for me on numerous occasions.

That is what I did for this fabric. I gave my highest bid and won! I was really surprised that I won. I am always apprehensive when I see that someone has set up automatic bids because you don’t know what their threshold is. But I won….

So now the question is what do I do with it? When I saw this pattern I thought, oh pillow covers. Now I am thinking pillow covers and maybe an apron. What do you guys think? What should I have made with this gorgeous fabric? Let me know in the comments section below. Enjoy your Wednesday!

We have the same eBay method Mrs Shockley. It seems to often work in my favor as well. A beautiful apron would be stunning. I do also like the pillow idea too. It’s a lovely fabric. I’m with you on needing another station. I took off a week in August and I need a Bette Davis film day myself with some butternut squash soup, courtesy of Laura Vitale’s recipe. It’s the best one I’ve found. It’s on her YT channel maybe about 7/8 years ago. I’ve been making it since.
I did start training for the new job and boy I wasn’t prepared at all. My brain is soup. I’m praying that I get a good grasp of it. A few coworkers resigned and said they rather not bother with it. I’m trying to make the best out of it?

Lol! I feel kind of bad when I come in last minute and win. Oh butternut squash soup. That sounds lovely.
Oh my, people are resigning? That seems to be going on a lot lately. I heard that they are calling this year the “Great Resignation”. Everyone seems to be leaving their jobs. Goodness, I sure hope people get back to work soon.

    Hi Mrs. Shockley,

I am right there with you-a staycation would be wonderful. It doesn’t happen often but I do really enjoy those days that I can just stay at home and do whatever my heart desires. Oh that china, Minton Cockatrice, is gorgeous. I especially love the green. I believe Jennifer L. Scott may have the green tea cup. Did you use your Delamere China this Fall? With the leaf placemats? I loved your Thanksgiving dinner table. So beautiful.

    Talk soon,
    Mya

Yes! I love staying home and doing whatever I want. Those are the best days ever! I love the green Minton Cockatrice as well. I am actually thinking about bidding on a teacup and saucer on eBay.
I did use my china this fall and I am still using it. I have completely forgotten about my leaf placemats!!! Oh goodness, I need to pull those out and use them soon! Thank you for the reminder! I hope you used your placemats.
