Lilies and Easter Sunday…

Good Morning All,

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Day with your families. I am always humbled by what the Lord did. I always try to put myself in that situation and I always come up with, “there is no way”. I am being honest. That took so much to die for all. It really did…

We celebrated at home. It was just me, our daughter, and my husband. I kept things simple with a slow cooker chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, and southern-style biscuits. It was a nice quiet Easter celebration at home. The weather has been cold but it is bright and sunny.

Since there was only the three of us I filled the rest of the table with flowers. I mean why not! My local grocery store had these huge stalks of baby’s breath. They were gorgeous as well as the pink lilies that they had. I placed the lilies in one of my ginger jars. It looked wonderful!

I also used my new (to me) vintage lily of the valley plates that I purchased from Pender and Peony. She also has an Instagram page where she auctions her vintage items. I ordered these last week and have been enjoying them ever since. This was also the perfect time to pull out my lily of the valley goblets from Monique Lhuillier. Everything looked wonderful on the table and were the perfect pieces for our Easter dinner.

Let me know in the comments section below what you did or cooked for Easter dinner. I would love to hear about your family celebrations.

Have a great Monday!

    Hi Mrs. Shockley,

Your table setting blogs/vlogs are some of my favorites. As always, your tablescape is so beautiful. I just love a beautifully set table. My Easter was very busy, yet beautiful. Our family has been rather cautious since the pandemic and we hadn’t all been together in 2 years. So, this Easter everyone came to my home and we had a total of 12 adults and 6 kids. We opened our dining table so that all the adults could squeeze in and the kids ate at our kitchen island. We served a traditional Easter dinner. Everything was great. We also do a Easter egg hunt for the little kids and it’s so much fun! And before all festivities, we went to worship. I too am amazed at the sacrifice Christ made for us. I am grateful that we are forgiven and will have eternal life.

I was surprised though that a few of my family members said, ” Oh, you brought out your fancy dishes”. My reply was, “You won’t find paper plates here. And no worries about dirty dishes, I’ll take care of them”.

I also appreciate a quiet intimate holiday dinner as the one you had. Those are special to me.

    Warmly,

    Mya

So happy to hear that you and your family were able to get together. Especially after 2 years! It sounds like you had the perfect Easter!
I think it’s funny that they made a comment about your china. I always just roll my eyes and move on. Life is so short. Make it beautiful people!

I’m always in awe of Christ Jesus. It never ceases to amaze me. What I think about is how the masses would not accept his sacrifice. The fact that he is the perfect son God he knew that would accept him and yet he did it anyway. That kind of love is real love. Our Lord and Savior loved us that much he laid down his life and his blood poured out for us. What a remarkable gift❤🙏🏾
