Ideas for Using Your Silver

Yay, it’s Friday! I am looking forward to the weekend of course. I do not have a lot of things planned. I will be taking some time off next week. I just plan on staying home, cleaning and re-organizing our daughter’s room, doing a bit of wall washing, and doing more small cleaning tasks. I may also plan on visiting an antique store. There is also a new Ross store nearby that I wanted to take a peek at. I will let you guys know what I plan on doing.

Earlier this week I was reading the Glam Pad, another blog that I follow, and Holly Holden was a guest on her blog and was discussing ways that she reuses her silver.

I love silver. Especially silver buckets. I have been trying to find some silver mint cups but I have not found any that I like. Holly gave 14 ways to repurpose your silver and I wanted to list some of my favorites.

The first tip that she gave of course is a favorite of mine. Fresh flowers in a silver bucket…. so elegant. My second favorite is using a silver mint-julep cup to hold makeup brushes.

My third favorite was using a silver coaster to place chocolates on a guest bedroom’s bedside table. Now, how wonderful is that? I hope you all enjoy the list and I wanted to let everyone know that the Rose Pearl Shawl is now on sale for only $15! Order it while you can and there is only one Autumn Mauve Cardigan left. I am wearing them both in the photo below. They are both beautiful pinks. Have a great weekend!

A New Company Discovery

Good Morning,

Spring is so near. I am looking forward to seeing the spring blooms. I went outside to see how my buds are doing. I see some life. I am hoping that everything will bloom this year.

Speaking of new things, I forgot to talk about this new company that I found in the last issue of Victoria magazine. This particular entrepreneur was a part of the Victoria Magazine 2022 Business of Bliss Entrepreneurs.  That is where I found her. I went to her website and took a peek at all of her products and she has some beautiful designs.

I especially love her Saffiano Structure totes. You all know how much I love a structured tote. The travel tote (the middle one) is my favorite. I love a tote that is wide and can stand on its own.

Oh goodness! I really love the dusty rose and the gold hardware. I think it has a subtle shimmer finish and has rose gold feet stud on the bottom!

She also offers other types of designs. This has a very “Chanelish” design and beautiful dusty rose color. I just love the combinations that she is creating.

I really loved reading how she started her company with just $1,000! How awesome is that? I hope you all enjoyed this new find. If you have already ordered from her please let us know your thoughts below. I am seriously thinking about ordering the dusty rose wide structure tote and affirmation drinking bottle.  I am posting the video below if you wish to see her products. Have a great Wednesday!

Blue or Green Chinoiserie Canvas

Good Morning,

I had a pretty good weekend! I went to Staples to see if they had any Day Designers in stock. Of course, my location did not. I went to Target a few weeks ago and they had NONE in stock. I purchased the Rachell Parcell one and it is good but I love the format on the Day Designer so much better. I was so frustrated when I visited Staples online and I could not order this one. I love it! I am so disappointed. Maybe one of your locations has it in stock.

I also went and visited DSW, the grocery store (picked up some fresh flowers), and the At Home Store. My dear friend Shery told me that the blue version of my green chinoiserie canvas was available. I had to go and see it for myself.

Now let me remind you of what the green one looked like. I can’t remember when I purchased this. I believe it might have been last year or maybe the year before. I loved this one as well. The colors are gorgeous so is the design.

Here it is in the blue. Oh dear, I must admit that I love the blue a little bit more. It’s such a gorgeous print and color!

Here is the print up close. Loving the details, the gold, the colors!

I moved the green one to my home office. I think it’s a great fit and looks wonderful in the room. I may share more photos later. The artwork that was originally there I moved to our kitchen and it looks so wonderful there. I love having artwork there as well. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and thanks for reading!

A Forever Home…

Good Morning,

You guys won’t believe this but we are expecting up to 3 inches of snow today! I could just scream but that’s Indiana for you. That is why I always wait to completely change my wardrobe over and work in the yard. It’s completely pointless….

But today is Friday and I am looking forward to the weekend. I know the clocks go forward as well. I always feel like I lose some of my life when that happens! That hour is everything and I mean everything. I am hoping that my nail salon finished its renovations. They were not opened last weekend and I have a feeling that they may have sold it! We will see….

I was on the Victoria website during my lunch break this week and saw an article about a “forever home”. This year I will be 40 which is still very young but I just keep thinking about how fast these years have gone by. It feels as though 20 years just zoomed right by me. I have been thinking about how long I want to work, and when I want to retire. I am trying to plan well.

I am always thinking about home life. I have been trying to see my later years in this home. I think my husband and I may have to find a one-level home down the road.

I love this photo. I see me and my husband having quiet dinners here. It will be a different life at that time for both of us. What about any of you? Are some of you living in your forever home right now? I would love to know what you love about your “forever home” and what you would not compromise on. I know for me having more space between me and my neighbors would be a wonderful thing.

Have a great weekend!

My Garden Inspiraton

Good Morning Everyone,

Boy did we have some spectacular weather here in Indy this weekend! It was sooo nice. I opened up all of the windows to let in the nice breeze. I love having fresh air circulate in our home. It seems to get that stale winter air out. All of the sunshine we had this weekend got me thinking about what I want to do with my garden this year. I have shared my peonies before and I love them. I can’t wait to see this year’s colors and varieties. Each year we get more peonies and more hydrangeas.

In my recent Youtube video, I talked about how I wanted some climbers in my garden. I am still wanting that. So I have started my research on what kind of roses would be best to grow here in my state. I can’t wait until after Mother’s Day, that’s when I start to work in my yard. Honestly, May is the best time. We still get snow in Indiana up until April! It’s terrible.

I am also on the hunt for a garden trellis. I found a few on Wayfair that I am interested in. But I really want a white one.

This is the end goal. I am hoping to grow some pink roses of course. I would love to have a scented light pink version. We will see what the garden center says. I am so anxious about it. It always seems to be hard to grow things here but I am determined to have some climbing roses on the side of my house.

Isn’t this spectacular? I would love to come home from a long day in the office, grab a chilled glass of wine, sit on my porch and literally smell the roses. Let me know in the comments below if you have a trellis. I would love to know what you growing. Also, has anyone everyone grown dahlias? Let me know! Have a great Monday!

Be Inspired…

Good Morning!

I am ready for the weekend! We are taking Lauren and her bestie out to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner tomorrow. We got Lauren a new sewing machine for her birthday. She is taking a fashion class at school and loves it. She has been making clothes and home accessories at school so we thought why not get her a machine for home. She is looking forward to creating things. We are going to head to JoAnn Fabrics this weekend to look around and find inspiration!

Speaking of inspiration I love seeing “life quotes”. I was on Pinterest recently and saw this quote below…

Wow, isn’t that powerful? How many times have we done this? I know I am guilty. Sometimes you just have to pull yourself back and pay attention. You wouldn’t take advice from someone who would criticize you. But I think sometimes you just get so caught up in the drama that you forget that this person does not have your best interest at heart. Don’t let them have authority over your life! Ignore and move forward.

I hope that quote inspired you to make goals and to stop giving people power over your life. It takes practice but it can be done!

Here is one more inspiring item. The boutique’s new arrival is available. The Emma Lace Midi is sooo beautiful.

It is the perfect dusty pink, the lace in the front is elegant, and the pleated skirt is perfect. The sleeves are sheer which adds a more feminine touch and it is fully lined! It is a really pretty dress and I hope you all love it. Have a great weekend!

A Blue and White Wedding

Good Morning Everyone,

I am really excited! My new arrival for the boutique has arrived and I do love it! It’s a regular size dress and I can’t wait to get it on the website! I hope you guys love it as well. Speaking of beautiful things I found this gorgeous and I mean gorgeous wedding on Pinterest.

I clicked on the photo and it lead me to a timeless wedding in Washington, D.C.

Don’t you just love the toile table skirt? So beautiful! I love the pink draperies, hydrangeas, mother of pearl, roses, and tulips.

Oh my goodness! Can I have this banquette? I would love this! It makes me want to search Facebook Marketplace. I think the website said that it was custom-made.

Look at this beautiful card table. It is decorated with blue and white canton and chinoiserie vases. They also filled it with the iconic cherry blossoms from Washington D.C. This wedding has such beautiful details. If you wish to read about it or see the rest of the photos you may do so here.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!
