February Favorites ~ 2022

And there goes February….. today is actually our 18 year Wedding Anniversary! I still can’t believe that I have been married that long. 18 years married, 19 years together. Goodness… I knew this next chapter of my life would be a bit different. With my step-sons in their mid-twenties, life is beginning to take on something different. I just pray and hope that we can enjoy it! Now on to my favorites for the month of February…

First on my list is one of my new book purchases. I actually just recorded a new video on my Youtube channel about my books. I will link it below.

The second was my solo lunch at the Rustic Root. I will be doing this again soon!

Third, are my gorgeous Born on the 5th sandals from Dillards! Just look at the photos. Need I say more?

Fourth are wonderful storage solutions that I found on Amazon. The first are these hydrangea storage bowls. They come in 4 different sizes and all of them have lids.

Here is the second set of storage bowls. These are actually good to store your produce in. I have been using them for my grapes. Each container has a strainer to help wash and drain your produce. I absolutely LOVE these! I am so glad that I ordered them. They come in a set of 3!

Fifth are my new antiques that I purchased from a new store that I found. I actually shared these on my Youtube channel. I purchased the glass perfume bottle, vintage brooch, and vintage hand mirror. A few of my followers on Youtube gave me lots of wonderful ideas for the perfume bottle. We will see what I end up using it for.

The sixth is this super cute reusable floral cup from a boutique called Morning Lavender. I use cups like this when I am running errands and want to take my hot tea with me or some orange juice. Just wash it out and put it back in your cabinet when you are done!

And last is my new leopard rug from Amazon. I can’t believe how much I love this thing. I saw it on Emily from Chic as a Mother’s LTK feed. I think it looks so wonderful with my grandmilliennial decor and blue and white. It feels a little more up-to-date and fun!

I really loved my February favorites. I hope you all do too! I have linked my recent Youtube video below if you want to take a peek at my new antiques and some of my favorite books.

I am also having a sale. The Stella Bow Satchel is now two for $30!!! You could get the pink and gray for only $30 for BOTH! Order one for yourself and a friend! Have a great Monday!

On the Hunt ~ New Office Furniture

Good Morning Everyone,

I am so exhausted. This week was so busy. I am hoping to sleep in a bit Saturday morning. I hope the weather gets better. Right now we are having an ice storm…. again. It’s so frustrating. I have been trying to keep my spirits lifted in regards to this weather. One thing that has lifted my spirits is furniture shopping. So I have not done a ton of furniture shopping but I have been looking at a few websites.

One thing that I am on the hunt for is a chinoiserie table/desk. I really want to replace my table/desk in my home office.

This is an example of what I am looking for. I have only seen one desk like this and it was about $1,000 at the antique store. Way out of my budget!

Here is another example. I just love the design and colors and it’s probably made of real wood which would be a plus!

The second item that I have been in love with for a few years now is this James Settee piece. It has been on the One Kings Lane website for a while now. This piece was designed by the One Kings Lane team and has colorful floral upholstery. It was crafted in European beech.

Now my list would not be complete if I could not have the accent chair as well. I will take you guys on the journey if I find anything but so far I love how this is coming together. I can see these pieces in my home office now. My style is really evolving which I knew it would. I am about to enter a new decade in my life. I am expecting more changes this time as well. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I have a new dress arrival coming soon for the boutique. I hope it looks wonderful in person. I will also be posting a new video to my Youtube channel as well!

Dream Kitchen- Art Deco

Good Morning,

Spring break is on the way. I am trying to come up with a plan. I’ll check with Lauren to see what she wants to do but I want to have another staycation! I really enjoyed my last one. There are a few things around the house that I would like to get done and mark off my list. I would like to wash some of my blue and white in my kitchen and clean my chandeliers. Speaking of home decor and kitchens, in our last Chic Society Zoom call I talked about home decor and how I was not on the all-white kitchen look. I should have been more clear on that. I do love white kitchens but I just want a little more decor in them. A fellow blogger shared the kitchen below and once I saw it I thought, “now that’s a white kitchen that I would love”! This kitchen comes from a home in Atlanta. This home is located in the Buckhead area and was built in 1937.

I don’t know much about the kitchen or have any details but I do know what I see and what I like. The chandelier above the island is exquisite!

I love the antique details. The rug is a wonderful addition to this room as well as the sitting areas against the bay windows.

And the floors, my goodness. The color is perfect to me. I hope they are original. I love the brown sofa table and beautiful armchair. There appears to be art on the walls as well. I think that’s a wonderful idea. Art in your kitchen. I may have to try that. I do have vintage-inspired rugs in my kitchen as well. If you wish to know more about this home you may view it here.

Let me know in the comments section below how you feel about white kitchens. I would love to know your opinion!

The London Ring ~ Princess Diana

Good Morning!

I have the day off today for the holiday. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have an extra day. This morning I went for a morning walk! I have not been able to do this since early November. I miss my morning walks. I have been getting on the elliptical instead. But there is something beautiful and exhilarating about walking outside in the mornings. I get to hear nature, talk with the Lord, breathe fresh air, and have peace. I am looking forward to being able to walk again soon.

Today I do have a jam-packed schedule. I have two appointments and I need to drop off some items for donation at the women’s center. I am also working on trying to get some new items for the boutique. I can’t believe that I am closing in on one year already. Seriously I can’t believe I lasted a year. I am so grateful to all of my customers. I do hope that everyone is loving their purchases.

Speaking of new purchases. I recently took a leap and purchased a piece that I was on the fence about. I have shared my purchases from Nicola Bathie before and I was hoping that this piece would not disappoint.

The second jewelry piece that I ordered was the London Blue Ring. I LOVED this ring when I first saw it. Now it’s obvious that this ring is inspired by Princess Diana’s ring well now Kate Middleton’s ring. But isn’t it the most elegant ring ever? It speaks royalty and class. It does come in green but I had to order the blue.

I did find some more affordable versions on the Etsy website. There is this one, this one, and this one. I hope these will get you started on your quest for one. This is a classic ring. One that could be worn for ages. Have a great Monday!

Famille Rose ~ New China

Good Morning Friends,

And it has been another super busy week for me at the office. I am looking forward to this upcoming 3-day weekend. I intend on getting caught up on house chores that I have not been able to get to. Like washing my cabinet doors and curtains. I also plan on ordering a few things for the boutique but we will see how that goes. I did order the floral pearl cluster earrings and when I opened the package they were the ugliest earrings I have ever seen! Sorry but I want to be honest. So those will not be going on the website. They looked so wonderful and elegant online but in person….. no thanks.

I have a new find alert! I did check out some new china on the Williams Sonoma website. I saw it online and thought I need to go and see this in person. The china did not disappoint…..

I saw this set online and had to order it. I ordered the boxed appetizer plates first. After I ordered this set I knew that I had to get more. Aren’t they stunning? This is called the Famille Rose collection for Williams Sonoma. It is microwave safe and dishwasher safe.  This collection is inspired by Chinese porcelain. The collection has beautiful details of floral and fauna.

Once my appetizer plates arrived I knew that I wanted more pieces. This particular design was inspired by traditional Chinese porcelain. Love all of the colors!

I couldn’t stop there and kept walking around the store to find more pieces. I then found these. They come in 3 different colors. I chose to get the pink rim and blue rim. I love the eye-catching color palette and the embellished floral motif.

I decided to play around with layering the plates. It was so much fun coming up with different combinations.

Oh be still my heart….

Another item that I ordered where these Lily of the Vally wine goblets from the new Monique Lhuillier collection.

I love this glassware collection. It’s an everyday luxury. I am already using them for our everyday dinners. I also use them for my morning breakfasts.

I am really enjoying my new china plates from Williams Sonoma and my new wine goblets. You guys know that I am a firm believer in using what you have and I am using my new pieces. I only purchased a few. The store didn’t have complete sets of everything. So I just purchased what I liked. I may order full sets down the road but for right now I will enjoy these myself. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

A Gorgeous Savannah Home

Good Morning,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. My husband and I went to our favorite Japanese steakhouse for dinner and we just kept things simple. He did get me a bouquet of roses from Grace Rose Farm. I always hate the first few days but by day three they start to look wonderful. And he also ordered me one of my wishlist items. I finally got a copy of Estee Lauder: A Beautiful Life. I will be sharing it on my Youtube channel here soon.

During my lunch break a few weeks ago, I was on One Kings Lane’s website drooling over this settee and spotted this gorgeous townhome from the 1800’s. Now some of the decor in the home I am not a huge fan of but can we just admire the outside of it. My goodness! If you want to read about it and see the rest of the rooms you may view it here.

Stunning isn’t it? I sure wouldn’t mind being quarantined in this beauty. It’s 8,000 square feet and it has a pool! All I would need is Instacart dropping off my grocery and a florist delivering my weekly bouquets. Dare to dream right? Have a great Wednesday!

Note: Spring is approaching and the Frances Floral Maxi is on sale for only $20! It’s a beautiful dress and can be worn to many events, photos, as well as everyday elegance!

Lunch at a New Tea Room

Good Morning Everyone,

I am sorry for not posting on Friday. I just got extremely tired by the end of the week. I did not sleep well a few days last week. I don’t know why but I was falling asleep at 11:00 p.m. and waking up at 2:30 in the morning! It was awful. So by the time Friday hit my body just caved. I don’t know what was going on but I was just so tired. I sleep in a bit on Saturday and sleep in until 9 on Sunday. Sleeping until 9 is pretty late for me. I am normally in the bath by 9 on the weekends.

I feel a little better today. Happy Valentine’s Day or should I say Happy Galentine’s Day to all of you! I actually looked up the definition for that and it said: “a day in which women celebrate their female friendships”. I do consider all of you my friends and hope you all treat yourselves to some wonderful “take-out” and a bouquet of flowers. Why not?

Speaking of treating yourselves I treated myself to a wonderful solo lunch early last week. I think I mentioned that I found a new tea room in my city. This tea room is actually only about 10 minutes from me. I have been wanting to go but could not find anyone to go with me so I decided to take myself. So I left the office early and had lunch at The Tea Room of Rustic Root.

I made a reservation for one and I requested the Lilac Room. I loved the space.

I brought some reading material to enjoy while I ate. I did not want to spend the whole time on my phone. I felt like reading and enjoying the atmosphere.

I also ordered a hot cup of tea. I loved using their china. I had the ginger & lemon green tea. I added a teaspoon of honey and it was wonderful.

I was really surprised when my meal arrived. I didn’t expect a huge portion but it was pretty hearty. I ordered the turkey panini and it came with a small garden salad. I ordered raspberry vinaigrette to eat with my salad and I loved it. It also came with a cinnamon scone. The turkey panini also had this herb mayo on it which was pretty tasty.

Okay, I have never had a scone this good but it was so good!!! This was also the first time that I had clotted cream. I wanted to eat all of it. What a treat!

I sat, ate, read…. it was a nice afternoon.

Loved the chandeliers.

This was on one of the walls in the lilac room. I love it and kept thinking about how I could accomplish this at home. I know Amazon has lots of plate hangers now.

This beautiful lilac wallpaper was on another wall. I could see this in my master bathroom. But you all know my husband….. he hates wallpaper.

Above all, it was a wonderful afternoon that I got to spend alone and enjoy a wonderful meal. I do plan on going again. I promised myself that I would. I think it is okay to dine alone. I am seeing more people do it now. We need to take the fear out of it. Spending time in solitude is a wonderful thing and can be done well. This place also reminds me of the Kopper Kettle Inn that we visited a few years ago. I may have to go back.  Have a great Monday!
