Upcoming Elegant Activities

Good Morning!

I can’t believe it but our daughter is 18! Wow.. she’s 18 everyone. It’s actually kind of incredible. She was only 9 when I started the blog. Goodness gracious. It really is incredible. This weekend we are going out as a family to her favorite restaurant. I just want to enjoy this time with her and my family. My husband’s and stepson’s birthdays are the same week. We plan to just hang out and spend time together.

I also hope to film a YouTube video soon. I am trying to watch some videos on how to do a better job at editing. We will see how things go. I plan on sharing some new organizational items that I got for my upcoming work trip to Washington, D.C. I will try to squeeze in a few sights while I am there, but we will see.

Speaking of sights, I get regular emails about ballets and new art exhibits for my city. I recently received a few that I really want to attend.

A museum that I visit quite often is having a floral exhibit called Art in Bloom. Local florists came together to create beautiful floral exhibits and showstoppers! I really want to attend this!

The second event is Sleeping Beauty.  Although I have always wanted to see Swan Lake, this looks like a wonderful opportunity as well. You know, I really don’t mind going to these events alone. It really doesn’t bother me. I want to experience beautiful things and sometimes you just have to do it alone. I will let you all know if I decide to go. Let me know in the comments section below if there are events that you want to attend this year. Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday to your daughter! 🎂 Also to your husband and stepsons! I would love to see The Nutcracker Ballet live. Before COVID, my daughter and I watched the Bolshoi Ballet: The Nutcracker live in the movie theater and the Bolshoi Ballet: Swan Lake. It was a live stream and was lovely, but I would love to see it in person. I would love to go to the opera too. I’m like you and have to do those same things by myself.

      Hi Alicia,
Thank you for stopping by! Thank you for the birthday wishes as well! I hope that you can go and see these events in person. It is so much better, and you feel connected with the art as well. Please keep me posted if you do!

    Hi Mrs. Shockley,

I really enjoy these feminine, elegant blogs that you write. And I look forward to them. Your plans are delightful. I am still working on going to events solo. However, I do have 2 elegant events coming up: An Art and Jazz Festival which is held in a beautiful park- I will be going with 2 other ladies that enjoy flowers and jazz too. And then I am hoping to take my eldest daughter to a Mother and Daughter flower arranging and cupcake decorating event at church. The ballet sounds wonderful. Will you go to that alone? I could definitely see going alone to see a ballet.

    Best,

    Mya

      Hi Mya!
Your flower arranging event sounds like so much fun! Especially with your daughter! Now how great is that! Have fun with your friends at your events. Going to events such as these is so much fun going with others because then you can have a conversation over dinner or lunch. But I refuse to not attend events because no one is going with me. Life is so short. Enjoy it!

Your girl is 18 awwwww Mrs Shockley that’s a big achievement. How wonderful.

YES! Ballet. That’s is music to my ears. My friend and I going to the 2nd of 3 performances on March 18th. It will be Don Quixote 😍 I can not wait. Were supposed to go to Cheesecake Factory after the show. It will be my 1st time dining there. I hope it’s good. I have no qualms about going to events solo. To be honest sometimes I prefer it. I went to Shen Yun performance by myself and enjoyed it immensely. If they come to your area, please go. They are a traditional classical Chinese dance and music company, these dancers and musicians are phenomenal. I’m looking forward to the small town flower show this year. I enjoyed it last year. I’m looking forward to going once again. Did that by myself too🥰💕🌷🌹

She’s 18! It’s still shocking to us. Oh so nice to hear that you are going with a friend. Have a good time and make sure that you enjoy the show! I love having dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Please let me know what entree you choose.
Shen Yun was here a few years ago. My father-in-law went and told me about it. I’ll have to check it out next time!
