Vintage Linen Napkin Shopping

On Wednesday I shared my vintage lamp find. Today I wanted to share my linen napkin find. I have a great fondness for vintage linen napkins. While looking for my lamp last week I also wanted to look for some new vintage napkins.

Digging through the pile. There were so many to choose from!

But then I saw these….. I do declare!

Pretty, pretty details and I adore the color.

Now there were only two but this was an excellent price!
Then I found this lovely tablecloth.

And for $6.50, how could I refuse?
I took one of the napkins to work and I USE it! It is so lovely with my vintage cups. It’s the little wonderful details in life that can make it beautiful. I do hope that you enjoyed this post today. Have a great weekend!

Vintage Lamp Shopping

I recently had an office move. While moving between floors I managed to break my vintage white lamp! I tried everything to fix it but I just knew that it would not be the same.

I placed it in our trash can and our wonderful cleaning lady Ms. Brenda saw it. She came right to me and said, “I knew this was yours, no one else in the office would have something like this”. She asked me if she could have it to try to fix it. I told her sure as always. I always like to give her things out of my office if I buy something else.

I told her that I would be taking a trip to one of my favorite flea markets (entry) to find a new one. So on Friday night I took a walk through the Beech Grove Emporium and found this beauty below.

It was only $9! I had to get rid of that ugly lamp shade. It was 3 sizes to small and I did not like the color. So I went to Target and while looking for shades I kept thinking, “oh I hope I find a blue one” and I did!

I had to take this off in order to attach the shade to the lamp. No worries I kept it.

At this point I was holding my breath and crossing my fingers hoping that it would fit.

My pretty baby blue lamp shade

I love all the details that it has and the gold bottom.

Here it is the finished product! I do love it and I think that I will enjoy this lamp for years to come! To my office it goes!

Cara Floral

This is a quick post about a recent floral earring find. With spring approaching (I hope) finding floral accessories is always a bonus.

I had a free day recently. I got to wonder around my favorite store and one of the sales clerk showed me these pretty floral earrings from Cara.

Aren’t they lovely? They are called the cara floral earring. I purchased the grey and blush. They have them in ivory also. I have been wearing them non-stop. They are just gorgeous!
They have a soft texture to them. I wonder if they are made of clay. I do hope that you can see them in person. They are beautiful and I believe there is a matching necklace to it. I did not find it online but my store had it.
I hope you enjoyed this post and this find!

The Pink Blush Shopper

A few weeks ago I had a post called Beautiful Trinkets at H & Mand in that post I mentioned a pink blush shopper. I was so unsure if I was going to order it because my H & M location had not received it yet.

I like to see my items in person. To be quite honest I hate online shopping! I like to go and see EVERYTHING. But a few weeks ago my location finally got it and I purchased it and I could not be more happier.

It is a fabulous tote!

It is the PERFECT pink blush color and the best size! Not to mention the price made it very easy to purchase.
I carry my breakfast, lunch, magazines and current books I am reading in this tote. I have carried shoes and my umbrella. I mean I have carried everything in this tote. I do love it and if you were on the fence about buying it maybe these photos will help.
I do hope that you enjoyed this post. I am still on the fence about the porcelain cup and the soap dispensers. If anyone has ordered these please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Kate Spade Bow Tote ~ A Recent Purchase

It has been years since I have purchased a straw purse. I saw this at my favorite store and thought this would be so chic to have for the summer.

This is the beautiful Kate Spade Olive Drive Straw Weave Savannah tote. I have loved carrying this! Everything fits and it helps me to stay so organized. I love all the space on the inside and the beautiful color.
Inside the bag, pink!

It came beautiful wrapped of course.
It looks so feminine!

With just enough gold
Here I am running errands with it. You can also see my H & M pink blush tote which I will share later. I am also starting to become a big fan of babies breath floral arrangements. I didn’t realize how beautiful their smell was and I think that they are so elegant in a vase.
Well I do hope that you enjoyed this post and maybe you are inspired to pick up some babies breath of your own!
Enjoy!!!

Selling on Poshmark

I am sure most of you have heard of Poshmark. If you have not then you might be missing out. Poshmark is an online website where you can list items from your closet that you do not want anymore and would like to make some extra cash.

I have been a member since 2013 and have never listed anything. I was recently thinking about all of the nice items that I just drop off at the Goodwill and a friend reminded me of Poshmark. So I took the chance and listed some of the items.

I was a bit nervous. I was worried about shipping and package accessories for my items if they sold. But Poshmark has made everything so easy. Once you make a sale (I DID) they then email you the pre-paid shipping label. You print it out and place it on the box and ship it! So easy! If you need boxes or shipping supplies go to your local post office and they have priority boxes for free!!!

I must admit I have been selling for a week on Poshmark and I love it! Here are some of the items that I have for sale on my page.

Floral top

Lace blouse

New York and Company dress

Straw purse
Sheer pink dress (just sold!)

Green loafers

Fragrance mist (just sold!)

J Crew glitter top

Because I have made some sales it has enabled me to make some purchases. Once you make a sale you ship the item. When it arrives the buyer hits the “accept” button and your funds are released. It then goes into your “redeemable” balance and you can transfer them to your bank and use them to make other purchases. I must admit I have been making other purchases. This is what I bought so far.
Freshwater pearl bracelet (just ordered)

Ninewest kitten heels, fabulous! I have worn them already!

Gold Chanel pearl brooch! So chic!
It has been a wonderful experience (so far) and I hope to continue to do well on Poshmark. If you wish to see my page download the Poshmark app or go to the website and sign up. I should be under sshockley and Sms S.
Thanks for reading!!

My Visit to Laduree in Washington

If you have been reading my blog then you know that visiting Laduree is one of the favorite things to do while on vacation. If there is a store near by you can believe that I will be making a visit.

But I did not know that there were two locations in Washington! There is a small store front at the Union Station and my husband found a lovely store in Georgetown. We went on a great day. The weather was nice and the evening was gorgeous!

Now this store was not as big as the one in Soho, New York last year (read my post here if you missed it) but it was just as glamorous!

Such a beautiful store.

Love all the pastels.
The candies and candles always look stunning!

Picking out macaroons….
Love the details in the walls.
Pure elegance…
Of course I left with wonderful treats.

They were wrapped in this beautiful box and of course I kept it! I keep all of my bags, boxes, and ribbons from Laduree. I mean just look at this who wouldn’t?
After picking out sweet treats at Laduree we walked about a little more and found this gorgeous Ralph Lauren store in Georgetown.
Isn’t it stunning?
Then we went to Banana Republic….
I walked up to the third floor and what do I find? This glitter block heels that I talked about on my blog months ago. They sold out so quickly but I ended up finding them in the clearance section for $34! Oh gosh! I couldn’t believe it! So fantastic!
I also found these lovelies. They are called the beaded floral statement earring and they are gorgeous on.
We had a wonderful time in Georgetown. I know that if we do return to D.C. Georgetown is definitely on the list again!
If you wish to read about my very first trip to Laduree you may see it here.
