Antiquing on Monday

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I decided to take Monday off from the blog and go and visit a new antique store called the Salvage Sisters.

The drive to Franklin, Indiana was so nice. All of the trees were changing colors and the small-town feel was so charming. Lauren and I kept looking at all of the old homes.

Once we got there I immediately went to the chandelier above. It’s a smaller version of the one I have in my kitchen. I still want a double chandelier in my kitchen.

I turned around and saw this beautiful cabinet filled with cream porcelain and crystal. There was crystal vases filled with silver everywhere.

Found another gorgeous chandelier! I would love to have this in an office.

Now, this is one piece that I can not forget. I really wanted this piece. It’s a vintage buffet table. I opened it and it would have been perfect for all of my entertaining items.
I also thought this would be perfect for a t.v. stand. I could see my flat screen on here with some of my vintage dvds in the drawers. I believe vintage furniture could be used for anything.

I did end up purchasing this English rose teacup and saucer set. It is quite big when compared to my other teacups.

I did end up finding the website for this brand. I have never heard of Roy Kirkham but the china on the website looks absolutely gorgeous! I only paid $13 for my one teacup and saucer and it appears that a set of two is $53!
And there are other sets that I am really interested in. I really liked the David Austin Roses set, the English Rose set (of course), and the Redoute Rose collection was another favorite.
Let me know in the comments section below if you have heard of this brand.
I really wanted that vintage buffet table….. sad face… I hope you all enjoyed this little journey with me. I wanted to do a vlog but I was using my phone for directions. Next time I should just use my car navigation dashboard! Have a great Wednesday!

Elegant Jewelry at Kohls

Hello Friday,

Sorry, I am running behind. Yesterday I had to go to the office for work. I was in my “flow” getting things done and the fire alarm went off! Oh my goodness…. no! I then had to go down 21 flights of stairs. Not fun…  And this morning I wanted to work out to keep up with my routine and I was so sore and tired this morning. Urgh… okay, but let the 3-day weekend begin!

I have been online searching for Christmas gifts and trying to find great ideas for my family and friends. I ended up on the Kohl’s website and found some great jewelry at great prices!

First on my list are these gorgeous Downton Abbey oval pearl earrings. I love a beautiful pearl earring and these are only $14.28! Great Christmas gift for that classic lady in your family!

Or these classic Downton Abbey cameo stud earrings for $13.09. They come with an elegant Downton Abbey box as well.

It turns out that Kohl’s has an excellent Downton Abbey line full of beautiful classic jewelry all for great prices. Grab some Christmas gifts!

Okay, one more pair of cameos and these are the 14k pearl cameo drop earrings. These are on sale right now for $85! They look beautiful!

Next on the list is this beautiful 14k rose gold drop necklace. It is on sale right now for $59! Wowzers!

And I am not really a Halloween person but I thought this spider brooch was really cute. It’s still elegant and chic for Halloween.

I hope you all enjoyed these finds from Kohl’s. I know that I found a few pieces that I want. Everyone please enjoy your weekend and the weather!

Weekly Beauty Inspiration ~ LABL Book (3)

Good Morning,

We are in the first week of October. October already…. I have been pulling all of my autumn and winter inspired candles to the front of the cabinet. I can’t wait to use them. I also ran some errands this weekend. I finally found the perfect faux leather skirt at Target. You can click on the size to change it to yours but I went and picked up my size and tried it on. I love it! It’s not too short and hits me at the perfect length. It is going to look very chic with a sweater this coming season.

Now time for this week’s inspired post from Living a Beautiful Life. I hope everyone has been enjoying the snippets that I have been sharing from this book. It has been a lovely evening read and a way to end my evenings.

This week’s inspiration is…. “Coming home and shutting the door on the outside world is an experience I look forward to, and I celebrate with something refreshing.”

“Having a soft drink, fruit juice, or a cup of tea or coffee as I prepare for the rituals that will follow, both symbolize coming home and uplifts me. And while I prepare my refreshment, I anticipate having it in a favorite glass, cup and saucer or mug, in my own place. We remind ourselves, as we pause, that being home is a real treat”.

Being home is a real treat! I cannot tell you how working from home has given me such peace during this time. I look forward to the holidays. I am enjoying even the cold days that we have had this week. I am loving the rain and crisp air. There is something about the autumn months that gives me peace. Truly it does.

At the end of Chapter 2, she mentions her “Grace Notes” and one of them was “when you’re just about ready to throw away your cologne, put the bottle in your lingerie drawer to give you and your clothes a lingering fragrance.” What a wonderful idea? Have any of you tried that? Let me know in the comments section below.

I hope you all enjoyed this week’s beauty inspiration. Here is the first week’s and here is the second week’s inspiration from the book.

A Quiet Birthday

Happy Friday All!

It has been a fantastic weather week here in Indy. It has been in the low 60’s and ’70s. Dream weather indeed. My birthday was Monday and I just wanted to share some small details from it. I got some flowers even though I get them every week. I just love them. They make me happy!

My birthday was rather quiet this year. I wanted to go to the Cake Bake Shop but my husband has been soooo busy!! I didn’t know when he would be free because you must have a reservation to get in there. You will wait for about 2 hours if you don’t! So we went to the Cheesecake Factory instead! I love their food as well.

I did go and get a manicure and pedicure. I was there for about 2 hours getting those done. It was nice. I have not been to the nail salon since February. It was a treat!

Most of you have probably already seen these gorgeous earrings on my Instagram account.

These are the Vera clip-on earrings from Loren Hope. I have been “stalking” these earrings for almost a year! I was so happy and surprised when my husband gave them to me!

I have been wearing them all week. The last item that I received was this beautiful “Chanel” inspired brooch that I ordered from a boutique on Instagram!

It was only $27 after shipping! I am considering ordering a second one. I don’t really have much planned for the weekend. I do want to visit a boutique and look at a few things but then again I don’t really need to shop. I need to finish up my Christmas list. I started shopping for Christmas gifts in September. I have been buying my ingredients and baking supplies for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have a feeling that items are going to be slim pickings this year.

I have also been taking Jennifer L. Scott’s Chic Financial Principles for Debt -Free Living course. She has some great ideas and she shares some personal stories about herself and her husband. I have enjoyed it very much.

I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the weather wherever you are!

My Husband’s Closet ~ A Surprise Organizational Project

And a happy chilly Wednesday to you all. In today’s post, I wanted to share what happened to my husband’s closet about a week ago….

So I was sitting at my desk (home office) and I heard a loud sound. I thought it was the dogs so I didn’t think much about it. My husband came home went to his closet and saw this!

The giant rack that he had around the entire wall had come crashing down!

It was a giant mess! Now we have lived in this home for about 7 years and my husband has not purged! You read that correctly he has not gotten rid of any clothes since we moved in! Needless, to say that I was not surprised by this at all. The weight became simply too much!

He closed the door and did not want to look at it for a few days. Lol, I understood and just left it alone. During those days he did email a friend who has a company called Better Way Murphy Beds and Meridian Closets to get his input on what our options were. One of the assistants at the company sent us a closet design and we had a plan!!!

My husband then got to work on patching the holes and painting the walls.

They came the same day and finished the installation within a few hours. It looks so nice now!

I love the double row. I really want this for my closet. I think it’s a great way to use your space wisely.

His closet space looks so much better and the space has been utilized properly. Now we just need to get him all moved it. That’s right… my husband has had this closet for almost a week and still does not have his stuff in! He won’t let me do it because he knows I will purge everything! He has way too many t-shirts. I mean there are probably well over 200 of them. He doesn’t believe it but I do.

Now I am hoping to have some changes done to mine but we will see. I will keep you guys posted!

Thanks for reading!!

September Favorites ~ 2020

Good Morning Everyone,

The first week of October is upon us! It’s going to be chilly this week in Indy. My birthday is today. I really didn’t plan anything this year. Covid really sucked the fun out of everything. I will share some of my birthday items later. Now on to my favorites for the month of September!

If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen some of these items.

Most of you know how much I love Poshmark and could not resist purchasing these. They are so comfy and extremely chic!

I also picked up this Talbots leopard tote.

Next have been my faux flower arrangments. These have brightened my home and changed the look completely.

Fourth has been my pearl and velvet headbands. These are so fun to wear and look great on anyone!

Here is a second one if you are interested!

The fifth has been my fabric shaver! Okay, let me rephrase that, it’s my husband’s! He actually purchased it and try to convince me to use it but I thought it would be “bogus”. Turns out it wasn’t. It’s a great product and got rid of all of those lint balls on my pink coat! Yay!

Sixth is has been my new blue and white embroidered face mask from the Enchanted Home. Now I will say these are a bit expensive but I love the fact that I have a beautiful mask to wear. It’s not fun wearing these but they are necessary for the time being and why not have a beautiful one? I have had multiple people stop me about it.

The seventh has been these oh so chic and so comfy studded heels from Macy’s. I have been wearing these over and over. They are so pretty and so elegant. I do enjoy them.

My eighth favorite has been this beautiful find from Homegoods. I love a delicate and elegant notecard. I still use these for my thank you’s! I think a handwritten note says, “I am making time for you” and we need to do that more nowadays. I found some similar ones here if you are interested. Also, I had to share these beautiful teapot favor boxes from Michaels. I am seriously thinking about ordering a set just because!

Ninth on the list, and my list has never been this long, are my velvet pumpkins from Amazon. These have been such a popular decor item this season. I know some of you have ordered these. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Tenth on my list was my pumpkin bread that I picked up at Starbucks. I was craving this for 2 weeks in the month of September so I decided to stop by and pick up a slice. It was well worth it. Now I have been craving oatmeal. I have a local Schwan man who stops by our house ever two weeks and I decided to try their steel-cut oatmeal with red quinoa. Oh my gosh!!! You guys it was soo yummy! It has brown sugar and honey in it and it was so creamy! I am going to enjoy eating it this week.

And last but totally not least has been this fun and inspiring video below. I have watched it several times already! I am so doing this the next time I find a furniture piece and what to change the color. After seeing her complete this project I believe that I can now be fearless! I hope you watch it!

I hope you guys enjoyed my favorites for this month. I can tell by my new purchases and new Youtube channels that I have recently found that I will have lots of favorites for the month of October.

Enjoy!
