Elegant Clothes and Feminine Accessories

Blush for Autumn

Good Morning Everyone,

Goodness, Halloween is next week and I have begun my holiday list review. It dawned on me this morning that I have to start preparing for Thanksgiving.

I like to start my turkey shopping as soon as possible. The brand that I like to buy usually sales out pretty quickly here in Indy.

Yesterday morning, I attended the Coffee Classic Series at the symphony. The performance was called Mozart’s Concerto for a King. The program started at 11:00 a.m. so I took an hour of leave and attended the performance. It was lovely. I really enjoyed having a morning symphony. It eased my mind and I was completely relaxed. I look forward to attending more morning symphonies.

I wanted to end the week with these beautiful photos of autumn decor from Victoria Magazine. Autumn decor is usually brown’s, yellow’s and orange’s. But I really like how these pastel colors were tastefully done.

Softly Shaded

I adore this look. The pumpkins are the perfect mauve color and I love the gourds and weathered lanterns. But I would be worried about my dogs picking up the pumpkins and chewing on them.

Softly Shaded
Don’t you just love the vintage linens? I am on the look-out for a vintage table linen for home. I have not found one yet but will keep my eyes open. The vintage books are a nice touch and so is the candlelight.

Softly Shaded

These are gorgeous! I love the botanical greenery and the hydrangea blossoms. The dusty pink pumpkins are a perfect fit in this window box. To read the original article you may see it here.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I will try to upload a video this weekend. I am just trying to figure out what I want it to be about. Enjoy your weekend!

An Elegant Skinny Scarf

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope you all are enjoying your week. Today I just wanted to post about this elegant skinny scarf from Ann Taylor. I actually tried to order this online about two weeks ago but could not. I don’t know why but there was an error on the Ann Taylor website.

Luckily, I got to visit the store recently and they had it there in person. I always love it when that happens.

It’s a beautiful silk scarf and would look lovely on anyone. I spoke with the sales associate about if they were staying. We have lost so many locations. I just hope we are able to keep ours. I hate ordering online!  I like to be able to see my clothes and accessories in person. She told me that so far we would keep our location here in Indy. So fingers crossed! I hope everyone enjoys this find!

Have a wonderful day!

Vintage Shopping and New Purchase

Good Friday Morning Everyone,

These weekends sure do come fast and leave quickly. I can’t believe it’s the middle of September…. already!

We had a hot week this week. It was in the ’90s. No fun, but I know some people want to hold on to summer for as long as they can. Today’s post will mimic my YouTube video from last weekend.

I am not sure if any of you got to watch my video but I found some wonderful items at our local consignment store. Shopping consignment is always a great way to find unique pieces at great prices.  So let’s dive right into my new finds…

The first items that I picked up at the Toggery were these vintage pairs of clip-on earrings, vintage cocktail ring, tear-drop earrings, and red bangle bracelet. I have worn all of these this week and they all looked great!

Next was this adorable vintage teacup. I loved the colors, designs and thought it would look incredibly chic on my dresser. I only paid .90 for it. How could I refuse?
And one of the last things that I picked up was this beautiful leaf embellished vase. It was only $28 but I forgot to take a photo of it. Sorry!
To finish off my shopping weekend, my family and I went to our Fashion Mall to look around. I picked up these beautiful blue and white ginger jar Christmas ornaments at Williams Sonoma.  They were only $4 each! And I had no idea that I would find the following…
I spotted these beautiful Gucci Rajah totes! Oh heavens…

Now, these totes were inspired by fashion entrepreneur Hattie Carnegie. I “googled” her and was completely taken by her background.

My husband was partial to this one. It’s beautiful but it just didn’t sing to me.

They also had jewelry. These pieces were also inspired by Hattie’s vintage jewelry.
I made a purchase!

And here it is! This is the Gucci Tweed Rajah tote and I do adore it. I don’t want to be one of those people that acts like they purchase luxury bags all the time. I put a lot of thought into my major purchases and always discuss them with my husband. He was there when I purchased this so I got a nod from him.

I really enjoy sharing beautiful things and don’t want people to think that I have this glamorous life. Things happen but I am a woman who wants to live well (within our means) and enjoy it! My video is below if you wish to watch it. Enjoy your weekend!

Late Summer Loves

Bonjour Everyone!
I hope that your Friday is starting off well. Mine is okay. We dropped my step-son off at Ball State yesterday. It was a little bittersweet but I know that he is thrilled to begin his new journey.

I absolutely hate it when Ann Taylor sends out emails. I know that I have to look at the new arrivals section and I always hope that I don’t find anything.

That was the case when I received the new arrivals email about two weeks ago. My wish did not come true.  Sighing…

I now have six new items on my wish-list and I really want them. Usually, when I see something on the website that I want I will just add it to my wish-list. Once I have a moment I print out my wish-list and go to my local Ann Taylor store to see it in person.

I am very fortunate to have two stores that have remained in our city. In some cases when I arrive at the store and view the item I am so glad that I did purchase it because it was not as pretty in person or the item is see-through. That has saved me lots of headaches.

This weekend my husband took me to the Ann Taylor and I was hoping that the items would look like crap but…. they don’t and now I can’t wait until they go on sale!

The first item on my wishlist is this floral wrap flare dress. Isn’t it the perfect green? I love the floral design on it and the cut of the dress.
It looked great on the mannequin and will be staying on my list.
Next was the pleated tie blouse that matched the dress. I saw this immediately with one of my black swing skirts, a single strand of pearls, and a great pair of kitten heels. So this is staying on the list. This blouse is also available in winter white and was also added to my list.
The second dress that was on my list was this beautiful pleated skirt dress in blue glaze. Isn’t it stunning? I saw this with some kitten heels and a pearl bracelet. This would also be great in the autumn with a pair of brown heels and a beautiful cardigan. I must get it!

Fourth on my list are these great houndstooth pumps. I MUST HAVE THESE! I am trying to wait until these go on sale. I don’t want to pay full price so I am trying to be patient. I have a feeling that I am going to love these. So chic and classic!
I had to add these too! These would look great with everything on this list. These are the Reese Suede pumps in frosted almond.

I am loving all of these finds from Ann Taylor. I am trying my hardest to wait for the best prices but sometimes things sell out so we will see how it goes. I did stop in Ann Taylor Loft to look around and I did end up finding some great items there.

This pearl necklace was on sale and is very elegant. The pearls almost look like saltwater pearls. It’s lovely.

I really like this floral wrap top

But I end up buying…

This wonderful and whimsical pleated polka dot dress. Oh my gosh! This dress is soooo elegant. It flows behind you as you walk. It’s just perfect! I love it so.

Well, I hope you guys have enjoyed these elegant finds from my favorite store. Please share if you have any of these pieces. I would love to hear about them.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy your weekend!

My Perfect Straw Tote

Happy Monday All,

I am so glad that the heat warnings that we have had since Friday are now over. I am hoping for cooler temperatures. I am not sure how low it will get in July but I sure do miss those 50-degree mornings.

I don’t like that heat. Not at all. Yesterday I posted a video on my YouTube channel regarding my vacation finds. Just in case you did not watch it I want to share the straw tote that I picked up at New York and Company.

It’s called the raffia tote bag and it’s a great size. I love that fact that the straw is not hanging off of it and it feels smooth.
You can put practically any and everything in it. The handles are comfortable and the color is great!
The bottom has a smooth cover and its great to carry.

Now the purse scarf does not come with it but you can easily add your own and give the tote some personality. I hope this is a great find for someone and that you all enjoyed my YouTube video. Have a wonderful day!

Ted Baker Travel Wallet

Good Morning Everyone,
I am trying to get back into the swing of things. Being off from work for 12 days does not help! Goodness, I did not want to go to back the office. It was really hard but the show must go on and life must continue.

The photo above is the beautiful travel wallet that I purchased while in Miami last week. This is the Ted Baker Travel and Passport Wallet. The original price was $159 and I was able to get it for $95.

I do love how everything is labeled. Isn’t it chic? There is also an extra holder for credit cards and other information.

Here is an up-close photo of the writing. It says, “boarding pass, receipts and treats, and passport”. I love the fact that it is leather and very unique. I had a co-worker tell me yesterday that it looked like a work of art!

Here is the backside of the wallet. It has another slot and it is labeled “adventure awaits”. The floral print is lovely and it is the perfect pink color. I tried finding this online but could not. The closest I could find was this one. It’s the same wallet just in a different print. I also found this and these on eBay.

If you happen to have a Ted Baker store in your city then I would go there to see if this print is available. I will try to remember to show this on my Youtube channel this Sunday. This Sunday’s video will be about my Florida finds. I hope you all enjoyed this little beauty find.

Enjoy your day!

Simple Picks

Good Morning! I was not sure if I was going to be able to get a blog post together for today but here we are with something simple.

Darn those Ann Taylor Factory emails! I found some beautiful yet simple pieces to share today.

First is this lovely boatneck sweater. I love a good boatneck. They are so feminine and classy and this one comes in nine different colors. Oh joy!

I ordered it in slate blue. I can see it now with a pair of pearls.

Next is this simple yet beautiful striped shirtdress. The price is outstanding and who would not want this beautiful piece in their wardrobe? It’s so versatile. You can wear it to work, a wedding, church, dinner with your husband or with a friend. I know I look forward to wearing it. I ordered it for myself.
The third item is this soft but fitted ribbed trim sweater. This also comes in seven different colors. I had to order it in the dogwood pink. It was too pretty not to.
And last but there certainly was more that I wanted to order are these charming pom-pom slippers! Aren’t these lovely? I had to have a pair and at $14.99 who wouldn’t! They also come in three different colors and I had to have them in the frosted pink. Wonderful right?
I hope that you all enjoyed these simple little finds. These slippers would also make a great gift if any of you are looking for something. Well have a great Monday and remember to look your absolute best today!
