A Hanger Refresh

Good Morning,

The warm weather is finally here! It was just lovely this weekend. We are planning Lauren’s open house party for this upcoming Saturday and I am continuing to purge items from my home.

On Saturday morning, I went and had brunch with my cousin. It was so nice and a great way to start my weekend. We had mimosas, waffles, and just chatted along. I am so glad that I scheduled this. We plan on going to shop at the outlet mall next month. I am looking forward to that as well.

In today’s post I wanted to do a quick share of a simple yet beautiful update to my closet. In 2015, I shared how I decided to match all of hangers. I can’t believe that it was that long ago that I posted that.

I was recently looking at my closet and thought, “you know I really want to update these and change my hangers to white”. And so I did and could not be happier.

Here is the before look. It still looks better than what it did back in 2015.

And this is after.. lovely, just lovely! I love these hangers. I love the velvet texture and rose gold swivel hooks. These come in a ton of colors so there are many options to choose from. If you have the 10- item wardrobe this would bring your closet up a level. You get 50 hangers for $29! It’s a great deal.

I hope this inspired you to bring a simple closet refresh to your wardrobe. Enjoy!

The weather has been so lovely. We were able to visit a botanic garden for our anniversary and for my birthday, we’ll be checking out a beautiful farm market. It’s been a pleasure to get outside! And your closet – what a transformation! Absolutely love it. I hope Lauren has a great time on Saturday.

Ohh sounds like you had a great birthday and anniversary. A botanic garden? Where? Thank you for the well wishes for Lauren. It’s been so bittersweet.

All the very best to your Lauren Mrs Shockley. What an achievement. Your closet looks great. Yes several years ago I did change all my hangers to the same one. It was when Joy Mangano was still on HSN with her Huggable Hangers. I still have them and they look awesome even after almost 14 years. Best purchase. They’ve been with me for several moves and everything. I opted for the gold hooks with black velvet hangers. I have no complaints. It’s amazing what just that change can do for your closet.

Oh velvet and gold? Nice combination! Isn’t it crazy how a simple thing like hangers can elevate your closet. Thank you for sending well wishes to Lauren.

    Hi Mrs. Shockley,

Wow! Your Lauren has grown up so fast. She was quite a youngster when I discovered your blog. Many congrats to her. This will be a new chapter in her life. So exciting! I hope the open house goes as planned.

I’ve recently updated my hangers too. Mine are Martha Stewart from HomeGoods, and they are a cream color too.The issue I had was all my hangers didn’t match. The 10 item wardrobe made this apparent. I remember Jennifer saying our closets should look like a boutique. And I never forgot that. Your closest looks great. So many pretty things in there.

    Talk soon!

I know! I can’t believe that it has been 9 years since I started doing this. It’s crazy! I so agree with Jennifer as well. Your closet should be a boutique. Even if it is small. Make it a place to shop for your wardrobe for each day!
