My Floral Tote

Sorry for the no-post on Friday. We had a “wind warning” here in Indy on Friday and it was bad. So we all had issues with internet service. It was not a huge shock as we always have Jekyll and Hyde weather here. Last week I wrote a post about Floral Totes by Ted Baker and in particular, I was dreaming about the first one.

The Cecie Chatsworth which is now sold out was my favorite. I wonder if any of my readers were able to get their hands on it? I am curious? I don’t get a commission for any of my finds yet but I am hoping to get some sponsors in the near future.
I was so happy to receive this last week. It is stunning! It is such a beautiful bag, you guys! Very spacious, it has plenty of room for everything.
Love the lettering in gold, so chic.
The pouch inside was just as beautiful as the tote itself. What a splendid buy!
I adore how the floral design continues around the entire bag. It’s wonderful!
I hope that at least one of you was able to order this beauty. The price was outstanding! I could not pass it up and I carried it for about 3 days last week and received plenty of stares. It is a show stopper for sure. I hope that you enjoyed this post and were able to pick up one yourself. Happy Monday!

The Lavender Sweater

Hello All,
I just wanted to share a quick little post today about this lovely sweater that I picked up at H&M a few weeks ago.

It is a basic knit sweater in this beautiful light purple. I call it lavender and it is just lovely.
I’ve worn it with my brooch and pearls.
It is very comfortable and affordable.
It’s perfect for those chilly spring days.

The material is nice and thick. I have gotten so many compliments on this sweater. Everyone loves the color and the shape of it.
I hope that you enjoyed this wonderful little spring find and enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for reading!

Another Beautiful Book ~ French Country Cottage

Good Monday Morning all! It’s a week before my kids’s spring break and honestly, I am looking forward to it! It will be nice taking a break from the “school schedule”. In two weeks I will be leaving for Washington again for another work related trip. I like going out of town but then again I don’t. It’s nice to take a break from cooking dinners and home life. But then again I do miss my bed, candles, home pretties and routine. Anyway, enough nagging. I wanted to share this beautiful book that I will taking with me and reading during our 10-hour road trip.

I am sure that most of you have heard of this book called French Country Cottage by Courtney Allison. It is a beautiful book and I follow her Instagram account and it is such a wonderful treat to see all of her beautiful pictures.
She goes into details about her cottage. She talks about her love of romantic vintage and how each piece tells a story. Each trinket is fueled by passion, inspirations and what you love.
I adore this bed. I would love to have something like this. She said that it was a reproduction and is covered in carvings, gilding, and worn paint. The bed has stacks of linens on it. I wonder if they are french linens. Read my post here about that.
This page is about her attic. Did you hear me? Her attic! It looks like this! Incredible!! I love what she has done with the space. She has this antique chair and these beautiful vintage sconces. She says, “The attic is a place for play and for retreat. A place for daydreaming with a cup of tea. Our attic is a little bit of a childhood dream spot in our home.”

Just lovely….
And lastly, this is her kitchen island. It is lit up by double chandeliers. They illuminate the room while adding vintage elegance. This is one of my dreams. To have double chandeliers. I would love it.
This book is quite big and there are so many more pages to share. I hope that you can pick up a copy to look at. I know that I will certainly enjoy reading this while on the road. It will be a retreat on it’s own.
Enjoy!

Lhuillier Rose Collection

In keeping with this week’s floral theme, I wanted to share some favorite small picks from the Monique Lhuillier Rose Collection at Pottery Barn.

I want to start with this beautiful table setting. The rose napkins are such a beautiful blend of pinks and creams. It also has a lovely jacquard weave. So lovely.

I also adore the beautiful stoneware and the Gabrielle etched glasses. I was able to see those in person.

Dreamy isn’t it? I was able to see this feminine bedding set at the store. This is called the Penelope Ikat Duvet Set.  I could see this on our own bed and take a look at the dainty clare swivel vase on the nightstand.

It was exceptional in person. Well, I hope that you all enjoyed my floral finds for this week. I am still on my pink blush hunt and will continue to buy as many items in that color as possible. I just know that eventually everything comes to an end and they will stop selling items in pink soon. I hope that I am wrong and that this season of femininity continues to grow. Enjoy your weekend!

February Favorites

It’s the third month of the year already! Okay, please slow down! I don’t want 2019 to fly by like 2018 but it looks as if it’s on track to do so.

(Sighing)…. There are going to be so many changes for us this year. My last step-son will be moving out in August. He is going to college. When I met him and married their dad he was only 3! I can’t believe it went by that quickly and yesterday was our 15 year wedding anniversary.

Okay, enough sad talk. Let’s get right into my February favorites.

Love my winged tote, see here to read it!
Now the first on my list are actually items that I just purchased but I like them a lot! These beautiful large, pale pink faux pearl earrings are from H&M. I searched vigorously for the link but to no avail.
I searched for the gray scarf also but could not find it. I did, however, find these.
Next, are these beautiful slingbacks from Calvin Klien. I actually purchased these at our local consignment store called Style Encore. I only paid about $17 and they are super chic and comfortable. I did run a search on Ebay and found some of these.
Fourth on my list is this small sample of facial cleanser called Tatcha. I was given this sample sometime last year with my free gift with purchase. I saw it in my product drawer and I thought, “Okay I will give this a try”. It is wonderful! My skin glowed on day 2! If you know of a company or place that will give you a free sample of this, take it! It’s a wonderful facial cleanser.
Fifth on my list is this oldie but goodie. It is called Living the Good Life by Martha Stewart. My husband purchased this book for me about 5 years ago (it was published in 2013) and I have not read it until now. It is great! I can’t seem to put it down.

Here is a look at some of the paragraphs in the book. Also, I use postcards as bookmarks. This is one of my favorites. I found it in Charleston last year.
And last but certainly not least is this great two-minute video of one of my favorite scenes from Mrs. Doubtfire. I already loved the elegant home that they lived in but wouldn’t it be nice to come home to this elegant meal? Great scene and funny!
I hope that you enjoyed my favorites from February. March is going to be a busy month for me. I have my daughter’s birthday, step-son and husband! The worse part is that they are all in the same week! I will also be traveling to Washington, D.C. at the end of the month for more work-related training. I hope that things will go well and that we just enjoy our time. Have a good weekend!

Canvas Grocery Totes

Last year I decided to cease from using plastic bags at the grocery store. I don’t know what came over me. I just decided that it was pointless and that I hated bringing those bags home every week when I can just get some canvas ones.

My family and I have also started recycling last year. We use a lot of plastic water bottles and I saw a commercial last year of a huge whale being cut open (after it died) and nothing but plastic bottles fell out of him! I felt horrible! I know I can’t save the world but I am hoping that with us recycling I can at least save one whale. Right?

And honestly, I feel good going to the recycling bins and dropping off our bags of bottles, paper, and cans. I feel like we are doing our part to save the world. Is it elegant to recycle? I hope so! But anyway, I wanted to share the lovely canvas totes that I found at T.J. Maxx

These were $5.99 each! Great price right? I purchased 3 and I am sorry but I could not find these online. All I found were these on their website.
They are a great size and I love the illustrations on them!
I had to put them to the test and they passed! I loved having them in the store with me. I think I am hooked on using canvas totes for grocery shopping.
If you use canvas totes for your grocery shopping let me know in the comments section below. I am very curious.
Thanks for reading!

New Curtains & Valances

Ever feel like you need change? I have been feeling that way lately with small little decor items around the home. I wanted to change my curtains in the family room. I wanted something simple and sophisticated.

My husband and I found these great blackout curtains at Costco. I adore them! We have them in the beige color and there seems to be a hint of gray or blue in them. They are lovely!
I also wanted valances for some reason. It has been so long since I have had these. I found these white valances at Walmart and they turned out really well.
The curtains come with two panels so all I had to buy was two for my family room. My husband likes it and so do I.
I hope that you enjoyed this quick little home decor post. Let me know in the comments section if you like valances or not. Have a great Monday!
