My Branding Project Complete

Good Morning Everyone!

I had a wonderful 5 days off for the Thanksgiving season! Goodness it was really hard to return to the office this week. In the next two weeks I am going to be planning 3 holiday luncheons. Out of the 3 luncheons I am the lead of 2 of them! I don’t know what I was thinking!!! But I do enjoy being on teams just not the lead so wish me luck.

Today I wanted to share my branding project that I started in late August. I shared about this project in early October and we just wrapped up everything. I am still shocked that I took this step in my blog and small business. I just felt like having a custom logo for my brand would help me keep the vision in front of me.

After sharing my thoughts with Mary on Pinterest and having our Zoom meetings we finally nailed down what I wanted for A Home for Elegance.

Crest via MK Design

It all started with this crest. I love it so much! When I spoke with Mary it seems as though she could read my mind. I think she looked at my website, Instagram page, and immediately knew that a crest would suit my brand and she was right.

So this crest, as I previously mentioned, was sketched by hand for me. Mary knew that I loved chinoiserie and I told her that I wanted to incorporate that in my logo somehow.

I now have this logo in lots of different colors.

Another feature that was created and included in my brand package was my brand colors! This is my color palette for my brand. I just love everything about it! Beautiful pinks, blues, greens and creams.

This is one of the secondary logos. It has the name and the crest in the background. It also had the tagline and the year that I started the blog. So creative.

These are samples of my new logos. I have my main logo, crest, and do you see my hummingbird logo? I have a hummingbird logo! You may have noticed it on my website’s home page.

Above are more samples of my crest and logo in my brand colors. So beautiful and elegant! I love seeing my brand in this way.

And last but not least, is my new chinoiserie pattern. That’s right Mary created my very own chinoiserie pattern that I can use for my brand projects, and I thought about using it to create my very own silk scarf. What do you all think? A silk scarf with my chinoiserie pattern?

I am looking forward to using my new logo, colors, and patterns. Having this for my brand is a dream and I look forward to what the Lord will allow me to do in the near future. Thank you all for your support since 2014!

Thanksgiving ~ 2023

Good Afternoon,

It’s the day after Thanksgiving and ours went very well this year. We just kept things simple and spent time with our kids and their girlfriends. I just wanted to catch up with them and see them. That was enough for me this year.

It did take me a few days to figure out a table setting theme. I shared that I wanted a vintage inspired Christmas, and I wanted the same for Thanksgiving. Last weekend I went and got a pedicure at Woodhouse Spa and it was wonderful! I had a new girl, and she actually gave me a warm eucalyptus wrap for my neck. I so enjoyed it. While enjoying my pedicure, I decided to read the latest Victoria magazine to get some inspiration.

After leaving the spa I headed to Midland antiques to look around for vintage decor. They had lots of beautiful items that day, but I did not want to spend too much. I did find a beautiful table runner which inspired this year’s look….

The green table runner in the middle was what I purchased from Midlands this year. I decided to layer some tablecloths at different sizes to see what I would end up with.

I just loved all of the textures, different shades of green, and different designs. I pulled out all of my usual Christmas decor but decided to add a garland with this year’s design.

I could not forget to add blue and white, and I had the idea of adding my swans from the Cake Bake Shop! I think that they fit perfectly into this year tablescape.

For flowers this year I decided to get potted ones. I wanted flowers that would last a little longer and I wanted something a little different. So, I found these small white and pink roses that were potted plants and I decided to place them in my smaller vases. They turned out so well. I pulled out my Spode Woodland plates and everything just came together.

I really enjoyed Thanksgiving this year and look forward to spending time with family in the weeks ahead. I have already started my Black Friday Cybershopping and wanted to share that the boutique is having its sale as well!

My Christmas Decor Inspiration

Good Morning,

Thanksgiving is next week… all I can say is wow! So far I am ready. I have a few more things to get for dinner but other than that we are ready. My house is completed decorated for the holidays. I am going to try to go and get more velvet ribbon and vintage ornaments so stay tuned.

My inspiration for this year is the photo below.

I saw this photo in the Victoria Magazine 2023 calendar. Once I saw it, I knew that I wanted to incorporate some of the details of this photo into my own Christmas decor. Then I found the vintage ornaments that you see in the corner of the photo at the antique store and knew that they were a perfect fit for our tree.

I love how our family tree turned out.  I am so glad that I got these vintage ribbons last year. It makes me want more of them so the hunt continues. You can see our Mouse King from the Nutcracker and many other vintage ornaments that I have found over the years.

I am so pleased with my white tree this year. I scaled it back a lot. I threw out a lot of ornaments that just didn’t suite it well nor me. I tied velvet ribbon on some of the branches and added my ornaments from the Enchanted Home. My tree urn is so wonderful! I am so glad that I ordered it. I loved gathering some of my blue and white vases along with my Santa and nutcrackers from the At Home Store. I think it looks lovely.

This is something new. I moved this photo here because I felt like this spot needed something more. I also liked the fact that my bar cart was under it, so I decided to decorate everything on the cart this year. I loved the way it turned out. I added some champagne buckets and filled them with faux poinsettias, pine, pink roses, and green hydrangeas. Adding the garland around the artwork was a nice touch I believe. Seeing my sitting room in the distance made me smile.

I hope this provided some inspiration for you. I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

My 1911 Watercolor Painting

Good Morning,

I really enjoyed this past weekend. I got A LOT done at home, but my list is still long. My Christmas shopping is just about done, and I got my turkeys for both Thanksgiving and Christmas! I feel a little complete. I am now gearing up for Black Friday for the boutique. It will be having a sale on all items, so I hope you order something that you like. I have some meetings this week and a lot of work to do!

I had a Zoom call with a rep. from Pinterest last week. It was very interesting learning the business side of that wonderful inspirational website. I have so many things that I would like to do with A Home for Elegance, but we will see.

I did just purchase a wonderful antique item recently. I think I shared that I was going antiquing in Franklin. It was wonderful as usual, but I wanted to share what I purchased while I was there.

I went to 2 different antique stores. I went to Vintage Whimsy and Fren Chic. I purchased some antique ornaments, giant floral pitcher on the table, and the gilded white trim mirror from Fren Chic. I am on the hunt for more vintage ornaments for my trees. While I was there, I did pick up some Harney & Sons Vanilla Comoro tea (which is delicious). I love it with a spoon full of honey.

I then went to Vintage Whimsy. I wasn’t going to, but I could not resist. Now I see why. I walked around the entire store and then this painting caught my eye. I walked away and then came back. Something about it just called to me. Then I saw that it was on sale. I asked the owner if I could get a little more off the price but then I heard the owner say, “I can’t”. She then came up front and told me that it was an original watercolor painting from 1911. My heart said SOLD!

Now I did try to “google” the artist but I did not find anything. I believe it is Elizabeth M.K. Connor. That’s what it looks like to me.

It looks wonderful in my dining room area. It was the perfect addition to my Christmas decor this year. I wanted an elegant, vintage inspired Christmas this year. I will be sharing my inspiration soon for that. Let me know in the comments below if you have an original work of art. I would love to know!

I have to share this, but FrenChic has a space in the back that you can rent to have parties! Now wouldn’t this be wonderful for a bridal shower or tea party with friends?

Autumn Blue and White

Good Morning Everyone,

My branding project is still underway. I have been slowing changing and playing around with my new logo and other new branding tools that my brand manager has sent me. It has been truly inspiring seeing my vision for a more elegant logo and signage for my blog and boutique come to pass. I am hoping that this is a sign of things to come.

I had a lot of fun creating a reel for the boutique’s new arrival. My husband helped me with filming. I want to create more reels but they are a lot of work! Especially if you have a certain vision in mind and don’t want to mimic with other people are doing which can be very hard because there are so many creative people online.

We are now in the full swing of the autumn season, and I have found myself a little too busy to decorate! Well, I will be honest the items that I really want are far too expensive. I follow Belle Omniley on Instagram and find her holiday style so inspiring! She recently posted the photo below and I knew that this would be the inspiration for my porch!

Oh my goodness! Do we see the color palette? Do we see the blue and white ginger jars? Oh my goodness! As soon I saw the ginger jars I wanted to pull mine out and place them on the porch immediately! It’s just gorgeous!

So happy that she shared an up-close photo. I have this photo saved in my phone. I have already purchased 3 huge mums but they died already! I am seriously considering getting some faux mums! I found these faux green topiary balls on Amazon and I think that they would look great in my blue and white planters. They look really similar to her green mums in this photo.

I did find these beautiful blue and white pumpkins at the At Home store last year at the end of the autumn season. I don’t think that they are available anymore, but I have these placed in our family room.

I pulled my fabric blue and white pumpkins out this year. I love these and they were such a good find! Of course, they are from the At Home Store, but they are no longer available. You can see my skeleton Frank who is sitting in his chair for this Halloween season.

I did purchase a new magnolia wreath for my porch. It looks beautiful! If I am able to find some new mums or purchase some faux topiary I will be sure to share a new photo! Happy Autumn!

Rose Canton Vintage Find

Happy Friday!

It is truly amazing that this year is almost over. I don’t know about you, but I am not ready for 2024. Not at all. Yesterday was my monthly lunch with my friend and we went to a new restaurant called Gallery Pastry Shop. It was really good. I like trying to visit new places to eat. Especially when they are near antique stores.

My quest for beautiful home items continues. I visited a new antique store recently and honestly, I was not really impressed with it, but I did find these gorgeous ginger jars. I thought that they were Rose Medallion…

But it turns out that they are Rose Canton. These are dated from 1960-1980. I was so excited when I saw them under a table at this new antique store.

I am loving all of these colors! Such a beautiful combination of the greens, pinks, blues, and creams. Another detail that I really love are the hand painted brush strokes. I was told by Katherine from Pender & Peony that the marks on my jars mean that they were potted in Japan and painted in Hong Kong.

When I purchased them I had not decided where they would go yet so I have placed them on my bookcase in my office. I love them there for now. They are quite substantial. I paid $250 for both which I am not sure if I got a good deal or not but I will say this… I do love them! I believe that they are wonderful addition to my home decor.

You can search for Rose Canton ginger jars on eBay and Etsy. They are everywhere. If you can make an offer, then do it! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Happy Hunting!

The boutique does have a new arrival! My Blush Cameo Earrings are available to order! They are the perfect pink and feel very comfortable on the ear.
